Amazing and cultured symphonic sound, completely complying with fullness of string timbres. II would call it an "angelic" version of a regular symphonic orchestra.

Too bad the standard orchestral instrumentation was set before the saxophone was fully appreciated. I can't imagine any serious composers lacking the wish/ability to take advantage of the instrument if they can hear examples like this.

Sure, but it's still a minority and saxophones are still not even close to being a "mainstream" classical instrument.

I may be beating the dead dog on this thee year old comment, but saxes weren't included in orchestral music because the established instrument makers recognized Adolph saxe's invention's potential, and saw it as a threat to their success, so they continuously beat down on it, and some musicians would even refuse to buy from composers who wrote for sax, so to keep their livelihood, the instrument was excluded, except for in some brave composers work. The bass clarinet was also an Adolph sax invention with similar treatment. Sax himself was kind if a douche about his instruments superiority, so people didn't really like him much. The tuba was invented around the same time and is a standard orchestral instrument of all composers from that time on. The comment before me is completely true, also. I’m just glad that recently these ensembles have been taking shape better late than never.
