I'm really considering braidlocs. I'm getting to the point where I'm over the crotchet, wigs, hours for braids and twists. I find myself loving and embracing my natural hair. Thanks for this video!

I'm so glad I came across your video.. Your spirit is warm and welcoming! I've been researching sister locs for months now and have consulted with the loctician about it. I was discouraged to know how much it would cost and even considered learning to do it my self but "ain't nobody got time for that!" Lo and behold she celebrates her loc journey/anniversary every year by giving her customers a special during the month of September. She doesn't quite do sister locs but she did put me on to braid locs and told me that they were a great and easy alternative. So I am happy to say that come this September, I'll be starting my own journey.. your video has helped reassure me of the braid loc decision. Thank you and God bless!

Hi Jessica. THANK YOU for your kind words and that is awesome! September is around the corner. I really like that your technician offers an alternative. I've committed to keeping mine another year. 😀

" I spent a whole weekend on my hair " yo. Such facts. My hair is 9Z gotta be (lol 4c) I've been a loose natural for 15 years and got.. Fed up frankly. My mom cut all my hair off when i was in middle school (2004) b/c perming damaged it so bad. Then i grew it out and did styles and braids blah blah. Bottom line 2 days ago i got braids installed. Took 20 hours and $500 dollars - 327 braids (sisterlocks would've been $2000 my hair sits on my back between my shoulder blades.) I AM HAPPY lol i didn't have to perm it. And I did twists all the time so braidlocks made the most sense for me. I hear this 100%. Addicted to the get up and go. I hate detangling! I'm done with long weekends stolen away from doing my hair washing it, detangling and styling. I feel like I'm no longer a slave to my hair. We (my hair and I) are going to be working together now lol.

Glad i ran across your video. I'm starting the braidloc process with my 5 year old daughter. She has 4c hair and it will loc on its own if you don't brush or comb it everyday. She hates it when I brush and detangle her hair. I always struggled, but braidlocking was the best decision I ever made for her hair

Lainas Crochet Wigs Thanks for watching and commenting! It sounds like this is a great alternative for her (and you)! I had similar struggles with my youngest daughter, so I get it.

I started my braidlocs just before Easter. Cut my hair to about two/three inches long prior to. My sections are also too big, lol. I believe I'm 4c as well because these coils grab and hold on to one another! I think that may be why you lost so much hair, due to the tighter curl pattern. It's much more difficult to remove braids and avoid tangles than in looser textured hair. I found out the hard way that we must use detangler in those instances. Thanks for the relatable video!

@creativelyanalytic4 жыл бұрын
Hey Rasheme. I actually have a good friend in FL that did what you want. Her back & sides were already shaved and her top was loose natural. She recently added braidlocs and she loving it. So either way will work. Doing it short or adding hair for length. Totally your perogative. Have fun with them!

Your hair looks FABULOUS!!! I love the shaved sides too. Do you do a 2 or 4 point rotation? Also, having “not perfect” parts has always looked better to me. Glad I found your videos! New subscriber. Oh, and I hope you don’t cut them off anytime soon if at all..... coming from someone who will run clippers over her head in a heartbeat! 😬😂😂 I’m growing it now cause I want locs. Blessings!

Thank you Robin! I love your hair too! Oh how I wish I had the head to pull off a low cut. I would do it in a heartbeat! To answer your ?, I do a 4 point rotation, but it depends on how much new growth I have and how neat I'm being :-).

I use to feel like I was doing something wrong or had the worst hair ever. It’s that everyone’s hair is different and their process will be different. Some people may be ok with devoting every weekend to hair and if that works for them, go for it. For those of us that aren’t ok with it... thank God for locs!!! 😉

Finally a video I can relate to!! I started my braid locks maybe 2 weeks ago and I’m not sure if I should be patient or take them out but, you give me hope!! Almost everyone in my family have locks and there beautiful and healthy and I’m over here looking like someone off color purple 😂😂 My hair is bra strap length its very puffy I wanna say 3c and naturally straight ends. My braids look like braids no if’s, ands or buts about that!!! Do you have any tips I could do in going forward? Also!! Great video thank you for sharing!!
@creativelyanalytic5 жыл бұрын
You said Color Purple 🤣! I laught, but I can relate. That was how I felt trying to rock 2 strand twists when I was loose natural 😔. Keep the faith sis! Hold on ✊🏾. I'm so glad you found it helpful. Your hair will thicken up. As long as your braids aren't to big, you'll be good. You just have to give it time. I want to say my hair looked like braids for 4 to 6 months. Then they started swelling and looking more like locs. You have a softer texture so it may take longer, but your locs will form.

I have 4 c hair too. 4c hair is not weak. Our hair is very strong. Our hair is not meant to be combed through or to be soft and silky. I believe our hair thrives best when it’s in locs. That’s why it’s less maintenance when we have locs.
