Wow Mogley's story is so honest and humbling. He came from that self-taught era of skating where all you had were friends and skate parts. Baker 3 is on my top 10 list for skate inspiration! Mogley's perspective is definitely an asset to the Braille team, I can tell big things are coming! Btw, Foundation skateboards are my personal fave decks to skate for their simple aesthetic and mellow concave.

This is hands down one of the best origins videos, My respect for mogley literally skyrocketed. I know how difficult life can be and how quickly dreams get swallowed, but the fact that he kept skating even though he has a family and job, that's insane!! Not forgetting more than 8 years of trying only to end up working as a security? Anyone else would have given up!! It's amazing to see that people do get a break. Shoutout for bad first boards! (mine was from target, accidentally went down a storm drain two weeks later) I'm lucky enough to still get to drive by the old "Winn Dixie" gap that we'd all try to hit in middle school, amazed at the older guys, and eventually doin' it up ourselves. I'd like to get back to that point, just got a new deck for the first time in like...15 years. Don't stop and get old like I did, keep skating! But he's right, opportunity can come outta nowehere, but it won't come your way if you're not trying and working at whatever it is. Hard work does pay off, but usually in ways you can't expect!

I learned how to skate in 1984 in Bakersfield! I don’t know if the neighborhood is still there after 35 years, but it was called Quailwood, and there was a school, a good parking lot for skating somewhere, and a park. This was when if you could Ollie up something, you were one of the best skateboarders in town.
