Oh man. I was 12 years old when I started listening to SOAD. What a childhood. Wearing SOAD t-shirts, skater shoes, taking my cd player with me everywhere and playing their songs. He sings with the nose, this is very annoying...I don't disagree with your word but their prime was by far 1997-2003...After that, he couldn't sing heavy and started to have a higher voice in order to fit with the songs.. At least that period he tried to sing like he used to in some points..I think the best thing in the album mezmerize/hypnotize was the improve in screaming

Killer consert, one of the rawest and brutal performances ever.. Seeing bands in their underground years is allways cool, Serj`s growls are also so sick :-) Among my favorites of rare conserts! @@kobaba...12 Soil was another band that both Serj and Daron were in but the other members left because they thought the band wasnt going anywhere, eventually forming SOAD with originally Shavo as their tour manager and guitar and Daron on bass with Andy on drums, then Andy got injured and John replaced him then Shavo went to be their bassist and Daron on guitar.

This is just their best live performance by every conceivable metric. There's so much energy and raw passion concentrated into every single moment, Serj's voice is constantly upfront and he has so much expression with his body, Daron's guitar is on point as well as Shavo and John never missing a beat. The tracklist is also amazing, including some of their obscure early songs as well, and so many of them were yet to make it to the debut, also special shout-out to the audience that was unrelentingly moshing to every single one, bless their soul.

the tones and performances of all 4 of them sound amazingly close to the sound on their self titled. It's a testament to how well recorded their songs were. the album captured this sound and energy perfectly

god, i remember hearing sugar in the radio when it was released. i was 13 or 14. went out and bought the album and i listened to the whole thing and it was amazing. unlike anything i had ever listened to. still one of my favorite albums.

I was at this show! Living in California in the late 90s was crazy. I went with my friend Travis, and we smoked in the car prior, the whole place reeked of weed and it was hot ashell, afterwards we got out and my friend threw up outside on the sidewalk, great times!!!!
