If they go the route of the book John and Claire are going to be intimate with one another after which Jamie and Jenny are going to show up having either taken a different ship or survived the wreck. John and Claire are going to fess up to grief boinking and Jamie is going to get PISSED and hurt John. Jamie is going to run off and William is going to be in pursuit of him and when they see one another William is going to realize the truth about his parentage. John and Claire will also have their marriage annulled. IDK if I'm reading too much into it but I don't love the casting of Bree and William because to me they look too much like their stepfather's (Bree/Frank, and William/John). They might have to switch things up since the resemblance isn't there. Or maybe they're going to call back to when John was sick and Jamie took a young William out camping and William did something to upset the Native tribe because I'm pretty sure he claimed William as his own so that the Native would hurt him and not a child.
