My now retired father was a police officer and used to take me at his workplace from time to time. I happened to be there when they would arrest some thieves or prostitutes, but they were all closely overseen by other officers. Letting your child in the same room with a serial killer is idiotic in the most darwinistic way possible.

I hated that. First of all why would you take your own daughter to a interview with a murderer who killed and ATE people. Second, it’s Anna and Douglas’s fault. If I was the mother I wouldn’t even let my daughter go with my husband to a interview with a MURDERER. Douglas should’ve knew a little girl with all those murderers she shouldn’t be there. That was the most stupid thing.

@@speedluvs The whole show is a parody of other shows of this genre. The stupidly crazy plot twist (Emma being the murderer), extremely long side scenes (Anna and Rex love scene, Anna and Emma fight scene), and other things like the title itself are just parody by exageration. The detective believing her, then not, then believing her, then not... The name of the serial killer being Massacre Mike... Everything is just a joke, a parody.

I actually thought the whole ending was "fake" - everything seemed so scripted and weird. I think Anna made everything up and she is the one really responsible for her child's death, and to cope with that all these stories are happening in her head. I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of this series we find her as one of her "husband's" patients and all this was made up.

Anna stressed me out for the majority of the show until it started to be hinted that she was innocent. She reminded me of how stressful it was when I used to live with a family member who had mental problems.

I think it was all hallucinations. *Spoiler alert* Certain characters were real like Carol but the last scene with her cant be real. If we watch epi 1 and the last epi we will find numerous similarities and hints and clues all over them. She hasn't come face to face with the reality of her daughters passing, we still don't know how she passed. Real is her drinking and sitting and watching her neigbours out the window. The handyman is a fabrication of her imagination as well. You can literally flag him every time Anna is imagining things.

The last part isn't too far fetched. Feels like a scene intentionally cliched from movie Flightplan . Flightplan spoiler: Mother travels with her child, mother fell asleep mid flight, child is nowhere to be seen when she woke up mid flight, mother went looking for her causing commotion. Nobody believes she traveled with a daughter. She's actually depressed and is actually traveling with a casket / body of her partner. She questions herself and her mental state but in the end the daughter actually is in the flight.

Sadly, I think Anna may be institutionalized with all of this in her imagination. I think the "Mack truck driven by a 9-year-old" reference may be drawing on Anna and her daughter getting into a car accident involving a truck. In such case, I suspect it was a rainy day, and Anna was driving; possibly under the influence. It could also represent the trauma and loss of her 9-year-old daughter hitting her like a Mack truck. The last meal they ate together was likely a chicken casserole. I could write for days about all of my ideas on this. So much of this was over the top, which I suspect it was supposed to be, as it is all likely being created in Anna's mind ( I also have theories on what each of the interactions throughout Season 1 represent for Anna). Frankly, this could all mean something that we will never figure out until the end, because I don't think Kristen Bell, May Holland, Cameron Britton, Michael Ealy, Glenn Close, and company would sign on for something that wasn't going to have a twist. Every single thing we saw in Season 1 will eventually be tied together. I think when this series comes to a close, it will be anchored in very strong acting. Of course, I could be wrong.

Thats a good theory, however, nearly every episode its made known that anna's daughter was murdered and eaten by Massacre Mike. You know its not annas imagination because literally everyone acknowledges her daughter's death and the manor of it as well. I really do think she's gonna be institutionalized though because it just seems like her mental state is getting worse, she upgraded to vodka so that says enough

I actually waited to the end of this explanation to see if everyone including the narrator believed Anna wasn’t who killed Chasity! Anyone who watch the films “Identity” and Shutter Island will come to appreciate where this series is going. Anna actually killed Chasity! Everything up until her friend bails her out of prison happened…everything after that is all in Anna mind! (Her friend never bailed her out!) Her psychosis brings her into her fantasy world. It was all a cleverly done parody. The idea behind the show was to give you the silly murder mystery vibe and poke fun at it. The drinking and drug use is always a part of these types of movies to leave you wondering if these things are actually happening or if they’re insane. They purposely overdid it in this movie. Even the fanciful acting and dialogue. The acting was soap opera-like at times and that was clearly intentional.

I just finished the show and I am sad to say it but I am very disappointed. The hole concept reminded me allot of the movie „the woman in the Window“. Both of the women lost their daughters, had an extreme phobia that kept them from living the life they wanted. In both a mother figure gets murdered and the main character witnesses it but nobody believes her, both have a drinking problem and in the end it turned out the kid is the killer. It is honestly so ridiculous how many similarities there are. All over I also didn’t like the writing at all. The acting of the child actor was amazing tho and Kristen bell did anything she could to make this show worth watching. But of course this is just my opinion and I am happy for you if you liked it💖🌸

Unless the entire ending sequence was all in Anna's imagination and she's really in a mental institution - then this is literally the worst ending to a good TV show since Game of Thrones. I get it's meant to be satirical and poke fun at the genre, but there's no point ruining a good series with terrible subversion for the sake of subversion. Ridiculous. The dialogue from the killer girl in last ep was abysmal and cringe-worthy, and the fact the writers think a f*ing 10 year old girl can throw a grown woman off a lighthouse or fist fight and choke out another grown woman is mind bogglingly stupid - unless this was all in the imagination of a deranged neighbour who's still mixing pills & wine (but if that is the case, what a terrible cliff hanger to leave us on, cause most might not even consider not even watching a season 2 after that shocking ending).

I think with the whole 10 year old super human evil strength they were making fun of the movie Orphan but that’s just me. Besides in the movie The Woman On The Window the killer is also a a minor so this show was making fun of that movie along with Orphan, Gone Girl and The Woman In The Train who’s also an alcoholic imagining things like a murder that no one believes, she also lost a daughter or could never have one (idk haven’t seen the movie in a long time) so she steals the baby in one of her hallucination trips. The point im trying to make here is that I think they were just making fun of the gender along with the films. Maybe season 2 will continue or be a different parody or maybe there wont be a season 2 after all with so many people not getting the show and throwing their shit and opinions on it cause they didn’t understand it was a parody at first or just simply didnt like it. It’s happened before with Netflix it’s not the first show that gets canceled lol
