In 1994 at the age of 15, I was two years into my depression and I discovered Tupac. My depression was spark from realizing that people can be evil, even to kids. Also, I was starting to find out I was a target by the cops because I was black and staying in a drug area. I hated the world and Tupac expressed my feeling perfectly through poetic form. Which gave me comfort. Because I was nerdy but always looked thugged out. Side Note: Drug dealer are created by life situations. If some of my friends could have got good jobs, they would have never sold an ounce of drugs. But when your poor, money equals respected in the hood. Plus drug dealer was the ones in my neighborhood through back to school party and giving presents like bikes the children in my neighborhood. So who is going to snitch on the dude that's paid their light bill last month? Just felt like sharing this. Listening to Pac always take me be back to those times.
