We always say we don’t need a legal binding to secure our relationship, but we have a very passionate and strong relationship, just like it was since the very beginning. We do all of these!! We are like school kids and leave each other cute notes where we can find them. We always say good bye and goodnight with a hug and kiss and we always hug kiss when we see each other after being gone. He’s my best friend. We tell one another everything. We have been doing all of these for so long that it doesn’t feel like effort at all. It comes so natural.

It all starts with communication and never going to bed angry
@azianzheep5 жыл бұрын
I agree strongly with your first advice about communication. 'Never going to bed angry' however is, I think, one of the most over said poor advice. When two people are arguing, they need to de-escalate the situation (rather than escalating it further), and try to find common ground so that defensiveness drops and the two people can hear each other again. Being tired late at night does not help people to have these productive conversations and it can easily be a bad conversation that escalates the fight further (such as swearing or name calling) just because the two people are tired and cranky. It is totally acceptable to say 'let's get some sleep and talk about it tomorrow lunch time when we're better rested'. The promise to address the conversation tomorrow is important as burying the topic is also bad. It probably won't feel good to have so much uncertainty like a black cloud overhead. But ultimately it leads to productive conversations the next day. And more importantly avoids escalating the conversation further to a place where the very hurtful things can be said.

The golden formula for me has been this: find something to genuinely apologize for and apologize first. Then speak my mind, then let her have the last word. This has proven to be the most effective method thus far.

As the video says "You're not going to get it right all the time" but things that are worth it and that you want to make work take effort. Look at grandparents who have been married 50 years. It's not that they haven't had ups and downs, or always the whole "death till you part, " it's about the fact that they make an effort and they don't forget about what attracted them in the first place.

my uncle and aunt have been together since they were 12 and not they are in their late 50's, my uncle told me that what worked for them is having their own lives outside of their marriage. Like he fx plays guitar in a band and he has practise with them every week and he even goes out for drinks with them and has like whiskey nights and so on and my aunt fx goes bowling with her friends and they have their wine nights. Allowing eachother to have their own hobbies and interests outside of marriage has allowed them to not feel entrapped by the duties of marriage.

Just wanna to absolutely agree with what you saying, this is a great path to a long lasting relationship given it's coming from both sides. A few years ago my wife was attacked in our home and end up struggling to survive in hospital whilst in a coma after an almost fatal gunshot. I was in a meeting out of town and couldn't be reached. A long story short, the one thing that kept me sane was the image of her in my mind when we kissed goodbye when I left for the airport the day before. She past away few theirs later due to complications and I still cherish all 15 of your points when looking at her picture. Let it become a habit of successful relationships.

This is one of the best lists to improve your relationship with your partner. My hubby and I are doing 14/15 of the list for the last seven years and recently bought the book The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman and got to know our love languages as well. It’s good to know your partners love language as you can express your love in their love language.
@jesuslovesyou9165 жыл бұрын
After 2 marriages, I now see that my love language that hasn't been addressed is growing together in the WORD of the Most High. I've always been unequally yoked and after this divorce, I plea and decree I'll find my Boaz who will lead me as the man should towards bettering me, not turn me into a hurting/unloved woman..because I've always made my partner happy, but I've been missing out on fulfilling my needs. We all need our love languages bring met, also we need to cultivate our partner into the person we desire to have by oyr side. Thus , we'll not be lusting after someone else

Never forget it's a two-way street. It's not about give and take, which is usually very unbalanced - selfless person constantly giving to a selfish partner who is more than happy to take and then critique the gift. It should be about sharing, which is much more intimate.

My heart is weak but i am allowing myself to be love ... He watches all this because why i don't understand... When he was heartless cold heart with me... I felt like cheated on myself... Giving my life my young age for nothing i got catched like 17... Waited him 6 years to come to visit me .. Get me out of all but nothing for me now who he is i made himself grown on a work he would never have... He was leaving his career for being with his friends bad friendship what is the reality what all their friends are married and he isn't... He started to stare at me with painful truths... And i kept there until i gave up my battle ... I dissapear 1 week... He left me dumped me..he never needed me or wanting to meet me or experience real love is himself said love sucks while i was with him ... He never knew how to handle any argument he was always attacking me... Like that..tell me you what if your partners makes you jealous so much he made me experience jealous badly... Like he is on tura where women rules that that they can steal men and fuck them and wanting them.... So i got freaked out my hell ... I am so territorial woman who's not??...

@@martanunez56 hola Pia, yo también soy de valpo. También tengo una relación a distancia. Sucede que es mala idea tener una pareja a distancia que primero no se ha sanado a si misma. La ayudas a crecer. A mejorar.

It's sad but true, I was hoping it will change and maybe she's just kind of shy but realise that being with me was just an "option" than a desire. Great ideas 💡, my light just came on and will consciously look for these affirmations next time around.

Great video! Deep down I knew all of this already, of course, but wanted some inspiration to improve my relationship. Things can become stale in everyday life. However, I would caution against the advice to force yourself to resolve an argument before sleeping. Sometimes things get heated and we're not acting in a rational and compassionate matter. Sleeping helps your brain reassemble what happened and integrate it in your memory. I find that it often really helps to see things in a new light and solve issues much more productively. As long as you always make an effort to solve everything and not sweep it under the rug, it should be fine.
