After going through so many KZbin reviews for this camera, this review is easily the best. Didn't feel like skipping any of the video at all. Such a great review.

Ataur-Raziq Gonzalez - Thanks for the feedback. The RX100 M3 is a great vacation camera and it was a lot of fun producing the video - glad you enjoyed it.

Was about to comment the same thing, this was the fourth video I watched about this camera, the longest and the only one I watched until the end. I think it was the real life usage that did it. Not sure how I can justify the price tag though!

Ataur-Raziq Gonzalez Totally agree. Watched a ton of reviews of this camera, and this review is by far the best I've seen, at least as far as showing the camera off! Great job!

Great review - i bought this camera when i went to Cuba for a 30th birthday event and got some great results from it. During lockdown i have reinvigorated my passion for photography and hence filled a lot of gaps in my knowledge by watching lots of youtube stuff. It's so easy to get stuck in auto mode but watching others be more adventurous has inspired me to do the same so thanks for sharing your experience with this lovely camera. One thing that i have purchased which is a bit of a game changer for me is the Sony VCT-SGR1 hand grip which makes handling the camera so much easier ! Thanks for your time.

Truly a wonderful review. You showcased features that folks would really appreciate. The reason I found your video is so many videos on the RX-100 M3 left me wanting more. Yes, most agree it is an amazing camera. But, they fail to show why they feel that way. Thanks for taking the time.

Thank you so much for this review - I have just purchased this camera (literally on Sunday) specifically for Florida and Pandora low light in Animal Kingdom and found this video really useful. To see the different types of pictures and video really helped a lot too. It's an expensive camera for me, especially as I only really need a point and shoot but I've now seen so much more I can try. I will look out for the full review and hope it will have some examples of setting and pictures and video that can be achieved.

Wow...fantastic review! I'm not saying anything that others haven't already but the real world usage of this review puts it so far ahead of everything else on KZbin. I'm currently looking at this and the soon to be released Panasonic LX100. Do you have any plans to review the Panasonic? I would love to get your take on both cameras in a comparison.

Wow! Great review! Those were nice shots at Diagon Alley! I was there for the Red Carpet opening ceremony back in June! Few of the actors/actresses showed up. Didn't get to go in though. It was press/invite-only. Took my RX 100 m1. But looks like the RX 100 m3 takes way better pictures in low light. I think I'm sold.

Nice review. Just purchased this camera for vlogging and I am SUPER impressed. Some focus issues, so you have to learn how the camera behaves, but that's true with a lot of cameras. Read someone saying the best camera you have is the one you have with you, couldn't be more true. I love my 5d mark iii with the EF 50m f/1.2L lens, but it's a pain in the butt, and a lot of money to carry around, and you certainly can't do selfie videos and vlog with it...
@brainyfaceproject10 жыл бұрын
Hi - thanks. I imagine you've got your hands full with the twins, so the RX100 is perfect for 'run and gun' shooting and vllogging...much easier to carry than the awesome 5d mark iii!

Great review of this camera and very well put together. I am renting this camera for a three week trip to Italy. I did not want to use my bulky multi-lens camera requiring a backpack full of lenses, I wanted something I can just stick in my pocket and have it out of the way when not in use. I was planning on relying on just my iPhone 5s but then decided I needed something a bit more as I didn't want to have any regrets. After watching and seeing your examples I feel I made the right choice. Thank you.

Andre Johnson I hope the camera works out well. It really is the ultimate vacation camera... I use my iPhone 5S quite a bit for photographs, too...but the RX100 M3 starts up fast and is so much fun to use. Enjoy your vacation in Italy!

One of the few videos out there showing real world, consumer features that matter to the sub-pro photographer. The creative modes are a gimmick to some but important to others. This camera could be great for couples where one wants the manual features and the other wants the automatic and creative features. Would be interested in seeing the actual real world uses more in depth! Thanks very much for making this video!

Hello yes this is one of the best video presentations I have seen on the RX 100M3.. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I have a question I just purchased one for Christmas and I am mostly a video person. I have set up the camera in Auto Program ( P) and shooting with the new XAVC S format. 60p 50m.. When I play back the clips on the computer for editing the frames are MP4 format.. and not in XAVC S 50m.. Is this suppose to be in a MP4 format? ..I would not think so! In AVCHD format there is not a problem.. What am I doing wrong, or not understanding? Thanks

Hello, Thank you for your video, I have watched it several times. I got MY camera yesterday, and I found many picture add on like only red, blue and green, and play mode and illustrations, black /white, but I can not find 0the function that you used on the Dragon, Florissant blue.. That was just amazing, I want to do that to.. Make things fluorisent blue.. Is that Don on/in you're camera or post on your mac/pc..?

Ronny Andresen I created the high dynamic range photo of the dragon by taking three bracketing shots in the camera at varying exposure levels of 1EV; then I took the three photos into Photomatix and processed them.

checked out about 10 in depth reviews. this was the best one you got into the camera best and answered most of my concerns and curious thoughts. i did hear from a couple of the videos that the auto focus was laggy or very slow in some close up shots with video mode where the focus sometimes didn't not detect the face of someone right in front of the lens at times. Do you have this issue? thanks alot.

i Have a A6000 and was at Disneyland ,Ca and it was a pain changing lens,being careful with dust getting into the sensor,and worrying of getting banged on the extreme rides. so I'm thinking of exchanging it for the Rx100 iii. Hope i don't regret it. also can't see me buying a nice lens for my a6000 ,like a ziess(prime)out of my budget.

How is the camera's microphone? is it decent enough to handle a concert? I'm trying to figure out if I should pair the camera with a Zoom H4N (sucks it doesn't have a mount like the m2) or record through it's native microphone... I'd really appreciate your input, thank you for your time.
@silenthunterpty10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply. Yes I did finally figure that out. It is a the file but showing up on my computer as a MP4 file. I did find a great editing program Cyberlink PowerDirector13 that does have the production editing in XAVC S and can produce at 60p50m.. All good now.. By your experience do you feel the XAVC S is better than AVCHD 60p? Thanks for your help

Hi Michael The video was so cool and the features found on this camera is just out of this world. I know theRX 100's are expensive but you wouldn't believe the number of professionals that use this camera. Watching you taking videos is just way to cool. Did you use a tripod and the zooms were they done with the camera or post editing? The professional effect was outstanding. Got to start saving up my nickels and dimes to get one. Now how long is it till Christmas?
@brainyfaceproject10 жыл бұрын
Hi Ron, thanks much for the kind words. I didn't use a tripod. All the video was handheld. The zooms were all with camera, not in post while editing. No grading on the video, either.

Awesome samples! And loved the review! I'm planning to buy one but I'm not sure yet if I should get the M1, the M2 or the M3. I love taking pictures but it would be my first camera. Of course, considering the fact that the M3 is quite expensive, it would be a purchase that should last at least five to ten years... Any advice on wich one I should buy?
@brainyfaceproject10 жыл бұрын
The zoom on the M2 is better than the M3, but the viewfinder, codec and menu system are great on the M3. If you are just buying for pictures, the M2 is a great choice, as long as you don't need the viewfinder. If you will shoot lots of video, the M3 has more for you.

you can get even better video when you turn down contrast, sharpness and saturation. Makes for better Dynamic Range! Also, the Active Stabilization is apparently quite good, but crops in to 28mm instead of 24mm - but i think for handheld video its worth it! www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/1955-sony-rx100-getting-the-best-video-out-of-it/ And just look at what Brandon Li did the the RX100 MK2 vimeo.com/88224399
