Brake caliper leaking fluid from piston

I couldn't imagine how much nicer the world would be if all techs replaced only the problem parts. It is a lost art, nice work.

Right? I just spent nearly $2,000 on new brakes and rotors replacement and full fluid replacement. Two days later I had no brakes. Now they want another $400 for a leaking gasket they missed.

Lol thats because youre clueless. Reality is its more efficient and cheaper to replace the whole caliper with a reman then to do the seals yourself. 2 remanned calipers for a car this old are 80 total. The seals are about 20/25. Thats assuming you dont have to replace the piston which you shouldnt really be sanding to begin with. It you do the piston will run you about 30 or 40 bucks each. Now do the math

Red rubber grease is used for the pistons and I think he used that blue threadless for the bolts

calipers should only be cleaned out with a brake cleaner not water...better yet never use any cleaner....just give it a good wipe.
