Clean and true cups will make turning parts much more profitable. The first cup being key to mounting things correctly. Not only does it assure the part is straight its also less likely to have chattering issues. Its a much more solid stack.

awesome knowledge and clear presentation. I bought a JBC 601 and think that I need to change the arbor shaft but I havent encountered a YT video how to remove and replace... any advice? Thanks and warm greetings from western Pennsylavnia!

Why do you think you need to change the shaft? You can straighten it with a dial indicator and a soft metal hammer if you are careful.
