hey, I hear a lot of controversy around using copper anti-seize for brakes, I understand it's best to use a dedicated brake lube for this job. What's your take on this, does the copper anti-seize have any benefits over brake lube?

I work in a very very rusty area of the world and from experience the copper anti seize seems to work the best and last the longest, only use anti seize on the ends of brake pads and under the pad clips, use a silicone based lubricant like “eze slide” from kleen flo on the slider pins and around any rubber as any petroleum based products will make rubber swell

2021 Kona Electric, did not have OBD2 tool, so now after replacing front rotors and brakes plus moving pistons back on calipers, I'm getting regenerative brake warning, the car of course is undriveable, is there a way to reset?

Maybe try disconnecting the aux battery and wait 10 minutes to clear the memory

@@Tech-28 I will give it a try, thanks.

No glory, would an OBD2 be able to reset it?

A decent scan tool should be able to clear out that fault

@@Tech-28 Okay I will get my friend at Murdoch’s Tire to see if he can clear it.

Why would a dealership need to do a complete brake service on a 2023 Kona? Other than it being a dealership!

Seen one set a fault code when it was plugged in for charging and it wouldn’t start after that

The driver should just drive the car normally because using the regen paddle to slow stop gains you nothing extra in terms of efficiency. The sophisticated integrated brake system (not found on a Tesla) will bring in regen automatically using the brake pedal whenever it's beneficial while using the discs at times when it isn't. When stopping on level road it will only touch the discs from under a walking pace where no regen can be gained anyway. The paddle-hold function does not use the discs at all of course and actually draws battery power at low speeds to control the motor position. Although it's not certain that even using the brake pedal will keep the rear discs rust-free in your environment it can't be worse than what you're seeing now.

Wow, that's new info. Ya, just going to have to get them surfaced once a year.
