Brakelight switch 2007 Tahoe fix

After three attemps and lots of research I discovered a fix for the notorious Chevy brakelight switch issue

Bought a new one for $30 and still had the same problem. Tried this on the old one and it worked perfectly. So glad someone out there knows what they're doing.

Thankyou so much, you have saved me enormous stress while towing my travel trailer. My brakes would stay activated on my trailer, & I would have to hit the pedal many times to try & deactivate them , many times having to pull over & manually move the switch. Just filed the plastic down a little & now working perfectly. Thanks again!

Trying this tonight! Replaced the switch and cruise control was still intermittent. Have to pullover and jiggle the switch and connector and hope it works after that. Thought it might be the connector/wiring harness. Going to try this before I touch the harness.

It worked for me. Just leave the center of the button alone and shave down the outside edges. Let me know how it works.
