It's always best to zip tie the caliper to a non moving part to keep from damaging the brake line

Excellent video a recommendation: the rotors are cleaned with brake parts cleaner to remove the oil that the rotors bring.

One thing I saw that I need to call out... Your method of breaking in the brakes is incorrect. When breaking them in, you don't want to come to a complete stop for the first 4 or 5 times you stop. You want to deposit brake pad material on the rotor evenly, and you'll create a "high spot" if you come up a complete stop. This is what makes the brake rotors "warp" later in life. That "warp" is actually a high spot of pad material that slowly collects and builds up until you get that pulsating pedal. The only way to get rid of that is replace or turn the rotors.

Not Sure about GM...but, BMW like many other manufacturers use a floating caliper, however they recommend NOT using lubricant on the slide pin. I learned this after 10yrs of owning/DIY'ng these cars; up to then I had always greased them, against manufacturer recommendations and never had an issue. another 8 years into owning/DIY I always clean the pins with brake cleaner, and polish-dry them; and also never had an issue. I'll be doing this job on my 98 Express 3500 and its more or less the exact same procedure, so I'll go with the clean pins/no grease approach. Thanks for the video, it was an easy reference for Socket sizes: 19mm & 13/16"
