Even though he states here that he wouldn't: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6rY5KJd7qLm9E - So what went wrong then? He's saying they're not going to sell any assets and talks of the annual millions in revenue from music sales; not to mention the massive profits from This Is It; but then they sold in 2019. Doesn't add up. What's the nonsense of having to sell the catalogue to save the kids from poverty?! www.thesun.co.uk/news/10565448/michael-jacksons-worth-billion-sell-beatles-songs/ 13:37 And presumably that was huger again by 2019? So why did they have to sell the catalogue to 'save the kids from poverty' as they said? Since it was worth well over a billion by 2019? 'During 2016, Jackson's estate who were fighting against court clams against Wade and James also spent nearly half a million ($450,929.61 or £337,710.20) on PR companies. Their legal and PR plan worked at the time as Los Angeles judges refused to allow the abuse cases through - based on the statute of limitations for an abuse case only being five years.' IN WHICH CASE WHY DID THEY NEED PR COMPANIES IF IT WAS OUTSIDE THE STATUTE? AND WHAT PR? THE PR TO ADVERTISE THE CASE SO THAT THE C4 PRODUCER WOULD KNOW ABOUT IT AND TIP OFF DAN REED? 'CUZ THEY WOULDN'T HAVE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT WITHOUT THE PR! AND THEN THEY HAD TO FIGHT THE NEXT CASE. MORE MILLIONS FOR THE LAWYERS. AND WHAT WERE THE CLAIMS THAT 'GOT SETTLED' AFTER MICHAEL'S DEATH BECAUSE THEY FELT THAT THEY WERE VALID? AS HE STATES.

I think he sold it at the right time. Just before McCartney would reclaim back in 2017 the Beatles part, that he could do based on a US law that allows artists to regain ownership after a certain number of years (although i have read that eventually there was a confidential agreement between Sony and McCartney, so we do not know what exactly happened..) I wish one of those Harvard students have asked how he chose the time to sell it. Would be interesting to hear what he would say, as he had repaid all the debts by then. I doubt he would fully reveal his strategy but sometimes you can get some hints… What confuses me is that he now sold to Sony half of MJs own music. Could it be that sony thought he did them dirty in 2016 by anticipating McCartney’s move? Still it is 8 years later, so how probable is that? And MJs songs will be much more valuable after the biopic, so why sell now? And how is he investing the $600m? This really puzzles me. Does he plan to retire and wanted his 10%? But again he could have waited for after the biopic.. So there should be something else. .. I wish it is to the favour of MJ’s kids and his legacy. They had kind of love and hate relationship with MJ. I wish I knew what MJ thought of him at the end of his life. I guess we will never know… But it is so difficult to get conclusions from one-sidedness :( Very competent lawyer and businessman nonetheless. He seems to have a level of genuineness, I am not entirely sure though

You are not telling that you get 5% of the Catalogue and also you were in the same time lawyer of SONY and MJ. Plus you negociate in 1995 the selling part of these catalogue from MJ to SONY .

John Branca is a pathetic liar. The "trigger clause" is part of the original 1995 sony/atv operative agreement. John branca set MJ up from the start. imgur.com/a/rDT9tVf marcoballetta.com/operative-agreement-of-sony-atv-music-publishing-llc/ Million of dollars of loan accrued under John Branca, with consequent revision of sony/atv agreement , that was relinquishing more and more control over sony

@@bmarco1602 I already read the Marcoballetta document . They were recommand to me from a guy on Twitter . Thanks " all the same " . Sorry for my English I am from I do speak French. I read a lot of video concerning John Branca some from France in which they explain what is the Estate what is their role , what they yet did and how they did it plus more . This guy regarding my point of view is absoluty not trustworthy .He has never since the beginning be honnest with Michael. About the suppose bankruptcy he is involve 100% in that . I hardly beleive that Michael name it to be in charge of the Estate . This has no sense because he knew him so well and what he is capable to do . How come he had in is possession the supposely last will of MJ dated in 2002 just a year before MJ dismissed him ? This is non sense either . I look at your channel.I find it very interresting and I wil subscribe to it .

He represented both Sony and mj. He recently represented Sony in 2018 to Aquire “EMI publishing “ (Jackson owned a 25% stake ) this sale made Sony publishing department the biggest publishing company in the world . He sold Jackson’s 50 percent stake in Sony/Atv publishing for 750 million when its worth 2.4 billion so half of it was worth 1.2 billion. Mj was killed for his Catolog . He died the king in a white mans industry. They try to destroy the fact that mj was even black and constantly deframe his character cause they know how powerful he was and powerful after death as well . Branca is currently in the process of selling Mjs personal catolog which is priceless for 800- 900 million

I don't have an issue with the estate the only thing I don't agree with is the potential 50 percent sale of the writes to mjs music even if it is big money on offer. It will limit the estates future earnings againts topping the elvis estates earnings year on year

Difficult to understand whether J. Branca ( being a close friend to Michael Jackson as JB says) acted correctly in selling the catalogue Beatles to SONY , considering that Michael had a big fight agst SONY. It s doubtful. Unless the MJ Estate ( and MJ children) agreed!! You never know the truth at a certain level. Unless concluding with "" everything for money" !!!
