I can honestly say I wasn't your biggest fan and didn't really enjoy your vlogs, but man, I have completely changed my opinion recently. Your WhatsUpWoods channel has made me addicted to your vlogs. You seem so happy and comfortable with yourself, and it makes me happy to watch you and Jackson and Cooper. You are just radiating such a good energy (even through a screen!) and you should definitely keep it up. You put yourself completely out there and it's really admirable. Okay, enough cheesiness for today. :) xo

Have had some of the comments myself lately. Thanks for being real and trying to explain this! I is something that needed to be said. I am so happy when I see other KZbinrs doing brand deals and providing for their family's and working with good companies to help the companies advertise too. It is a win win. And hopefully we as content creators can be creative enough to show the value of products in an entertaining way so our friends don't dread the "commercials". If only everyone could be happy for other people when they have good things come in their lives it would be s different world. Keep up the good work. You are not a sell out. That cheese is damn good

This was amazing!! I love analogy you used with someone getting a promotion at their job and being offered more money. It is absolutely true and I don't know anyone that would turn down money as long as it fits in with who you are. You've done a great job sticking to who you are and evolving into! Don't give up...even if you do have more babies or go back to school still keep us posted with what's going on! Oh and my family channel is going to be at CVX as "KZbinrs" as well. Hope to meet you!!

I think brand deals are okay if its something you ACTUALLY like. I see so many youtubers (especially beauty gurus) who promote products they don't even use. Don't promote a crappy face wash that you wouldn't dare put on your face and get me to buy it and when I do I break out because its so shitty. If its an okay product and you would actually use it promote it IDC make your money, but if not don't mislead me into spending money on crap.

I totally get why you do the ads and branding on your videos and social media. That's not the issue. It's when you act like it's not an ad when it is. Just tell us and everyone would respect that so much more. We all support you making money and your hustle. But don't say your eating a romantic meal. And then go sit by the fire with cans of Campbell soup facing the camera. It feels then that you think we're stupid. Just say "this is an ad guys". And we would always support that. Cause your awesome and we love your family and videos.

+M Ten Hove I understand your point. However, ads require creativity to capture an audience. Commercials on TV do the same thing. It is good to be honest about when content is an advertisement but it shouldn't offend anyone. It doesn't harm anybody if she doesn't tell you it's an ad.

I don't understand why people get mad about brand deals anymore. If you've been on KZbin since about, I don't know exactly, but like 2008 or 2007, all the creators that were getting more publicity started with brand deals. I never once found them to be a bother unless they took up a majority of a video and disrupted with the original content that that creator had been putting out. Their a source of income and it gives our favorite creators more money and ways to express themselves and give us the content we want. I can understand if a creator was doing nothing but brand deals and not putting out any content that's worth watching, and for me there's a fair share of those KZbinrs that I don't watch anymore for that said reason. But a brand deal here and there for a creator who's very regular about posting original content is nothing and if the creator is good enough, the brand deal will just be another great video to enjoy. I haven't been watching Carlie in a while but that's just because being a senior in college with 20 hours and a full time job leaves no rest for the wicked. But I still enjoy what she creates and don't give a darn what kind of brand deal she does.
@rain-of6yc9 жыл бұрын
I think people find it annoying because there doing more and more brand deals than regular videos
@blablabla96ism9 жыл бұрын
Let me explain why I got frustrated. In one of Carlie's videos where she shows her new house, she said the basement was unfinished. She went to her basement, and talked about doing a bathroom in the basement in which a hardware store would supply her with the proper tools and her and her dad would make a show out of it. She made a point of saying Lowes or Home Depor would sponsor it, and basically give her free tools that regular people would normally spend their hard earned money on to buy. Her wedding, was mostly sponsored. She made a point of talking about the companies and the people that helped her with her wedding. When she did the brides maids gifts, nearly everything that was given to her was given for free. The state farm video was a bunch of nonsense. The stuff she talked about didn't really make sense with state farm. Nearly every video of hers is sponsored. She's not really a creator, she just vlogs, and most of her vlogs get cut off at the end. She doesn't have an ends slate, or an outro, or much of an intro. I'm sorry if this is offensive to anyone, I just really wanted to put that out there.
@sarahRbesty009 жыл бұрын
blablabla96ism Not offensive at all. I noticed that she's been very half hazard with her vlogs and that's one of the reasons I actually started picking other youtubers to watch when I did have time to kill. Every video of hers I clicked on was a sponsored video I felt like. I didn't keep up with her whole wedding thing so I didn't know anything about how sponsored it was, which is kind of annoying. But, on the other hand, If I was able to build my dream wedding or dream house with the help of sponsors, I'd do it too. But I also would try and create entertainment to go along with it.
@blablabla96ism9 жыл бұрын
You should watch Carli's "Will you be my Bridesmaid" video. She talks about "buying" gifts for her bridesmaids, but then she goes on to say that she got in touch with someone who sells little gifts and accessories or something to see if she would hook them up with free stuff. She got personalized stuff sent to her for free, and most of it was useless junk. She talked about her wedding planner BY NAME, and listed at least three people that gave her stuff for her bridesmaid box. Nothing wrong with endorsing a product you love, but I think she over does it. Like, what's it going to be next, someone sponsoring your future house? Oh well. To each their own, I suppose.

WOW CARLIE!!! I honestly saw this on your instagram and was like, meh, it might be horrible and a total rant. I started watching and was honestly surprised by how honest and respectful you were of both us and yourself. You are such a genuine, kind, and caring person. It radiates from your eyes and soul. As you began to talk about working all of those jobs for Cooper and daycare and all, it reminded me of my mother's time as a single mom and our struggles when I was around five to ten. Though it was a long time ago and I'm nearly a high school graduate, I felt for you, and truly connected with you through that. And as you talked about children and going back to school again, not so much the children because I have college and mission to look forward to, but in how much my mom has wanted to return to school and how she felt she wasn't yet finished in that arena as an adult. She returned to school when I was six and I have so much respect for her because of that decision. Besides all of the personal connections I made to you in this video, I am so grateful to see how much you have grown, even from two years ago. You are an amazing human being and what brand wouldn't want to sponsor you? Honestly, you are amazing and I do not think a sponsored video here or there killed anyone. Thank you for being genuine and honest. You inspire me to chase my dreams, as crazy as I sometimes feel for doing it! -Brooke

yea every youtuber does brand deals but it gets kinda annoying when theres a break in your channel then return with 3 straight brand deals or ig posts, especially when theyre irrelevant products that you wouldnt normally pay for and use. It comes off as your using your viewers for money without even putting 100% effort into your unsponsored videos. If you really put 100% effort into your channel then you have the potential to have millions of subscribers making millions of dollars without brand deals. #AllAboutTheLongTerm #BrandDealsAreShortTermAndPissOffLoyalSubscribers lol.

There's nothing wrong with sponsored videos. Sponsored videos are meant to be done in a fun, creative way so that the viewer becomes interested in the product. But simply going to a company and asking them for free things. Not cool. There has to be a balance between creating content, and doing sponsorships not just asking for free things because you normally wouldn't be able to afford it.

I'm newly married, my husband is in school, I'm working just to pay the bills, I want kids but am dealing with infertility, and it's hard to find my direction. Thank you for reminding me to just pray and listen to the inspiration. I really love who you are and I can see that you are really legitimately yourself and I think that's awesome.

I feel like people just get frustrated when all people see are ads. If we are watching then that means we connected with you at some point and then feel like all it is is a paycheck to you. I'm not saying that specifically about you, I just think that's where people get frustrated. I would hope that people understand that it's a job and you need to get paid so of course you are going to take opportunities, but I think sometimes youtubers get caught up in the money and then forget that people didn't start watching them to constantly "watch commercials". I commend you for making this vlog and being so honest. Your KZbin channel has changed so much since Jackson and I think it was for the better. I've always enjoyed watching your videos but now I feel like you are more comfortable and you are definitely more consistent which makes it feel like you care a little more. I think when youtubers aren't consistent and then they do a bunch of brand deals that's when it makes people frustrated.

Carlie can you do an updated skin care routine? Your skin is FLAWLESS and so smooth and glowy! I'm 22 and you have smoother skin than me! Are you still using PMD products?

I Love Carlie and I have only been watching since Christmas. When looking back at older videos the only changes are normal changes you make as you mature and have a family of your own. My problem comes when they start changing their appearance and start getting a weird attitude about the things they wear, buy, how they live and treat others. I have no issue with people who have created a job or career for themselves in the media using their talents to help educate others and support their families. I like that some KZbinr have helped family members by either employing them or helping them to start their own channel.

I just want to say that I REALLY find you to be a down to earth person. You are very honest from what I see of you, and all of your blessings are well deserved. I also can identify with your yearn to be with your child and still make a living. I am a single mother of 4 and when my kids were younger I was also struggling (still am) but I was working and commuting full time, trying to get 4 kids up, to school, to daycare, and then travel to work 30 min each way. It was HARD. I ended up making the decision to get my own child care license so I could be home with my own, plus care for other children and make a living doing so. I am a caregiver by nature! Just as I was doing this I became very, very ill. I have many health problems to this day and struggle daily just to survive emotionally, financially, and spiritually. My son ended up having a stroke as well and has been diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome from yrs of playing football and concussion and head injuries he is permanently disabled now at the age of 23. So, life has not always given me the best breaks, but I find myself watching your vlogs and your families vlogs and it helps. It helps take my mind and spirit to happier places if only for those few moments watching. They make me feel better and I even find myself smiling and sometimes even crying at the COMPUTER no less... LOL. So, for that I say THANK YOU!! Just know that what you do, and what you show of yourself and your family does make people happy. Thank you for sharing a little piece of your life, to help a little piece of my life be better each day. Peace & blessings to you & yours Carlie!

I seriously want to find the people that give all youtubers a hard time about this, go to their work places, if they even work, and yell and say the mean words they type out to their faces. Your pay check is simply earned differently than others. Why is it so hard for people to understand this? I love you Carlie, and I love your family. And really I love everything that you stand for. The world needs more people like you.

You go! Do what you need to do to live and provide for your fam. You are a good influence for Coop, your whole family is. When I see my kiddos (11 and 7) watching youtube I always suggest they watch the whole Butler fam- wholesome content that is inline with our family values as well.

I've never been offended or questioned a brand deal, but... I do appreciate you being open and honest about how the "system" works. We certainly don't need to know the specifics but hearing behind the scenes of the contracts and how things come together regarding brands is interesting. It's all a business and learning behind the scenes of any business is interesting.

Though I might not enjoy every video you put out, I can honestly say that I respect and remain a subscriber who gives every video a fair watch because I can tell that you're being transparent and honest with your audience. That's what I love to see out of my favorite KZbinrs. I told myself when I started my channel that I was going to keep putting up the content that I wanted to create, even if no one ever viewed it. My channel is still small and that's okay with me because I'm still putting out the content that I want to create. I think it's normal for people to not favor a video that's definitely a brand deal, but it helps KZbinrs continue to make the content that got them the brand deal in the first place, and not have to quit KZbin and go back to 9-5 job. And if a day ever comes that I get brand deals, I can't say that I wouldn't do one, as long as the product/service being advertised fits with my channel and more importantly, my morals and beliefs. Keep making the content you want to make Carlie, brand deal or not. Don't let the haters bog you down, you're awesome and amazing! :)

This is where advertising is these days. Instead of paying thousands to have them put on the tv network where less people would see it They're hiring people with a big social media following to promote the products for them NOTHING wrong with that Should my husband be shamed for his job and advertising his business in the state we reside in? Should he be shamed for paying people to advertise? NO he needs the exposure for a successful business Everyone wants success Right? It's a shame people just cringe at the thought about brand deals You explained yourself PERFECTLY in this video Honestly I do think you brought an entire perspective to light to those who are shaming it Bless you and your family Carlie. You have a beautiful heart

I admire you when you do a brand deal because that shows me that you are progressing and growing. Keep up the good work! By the way, I am loving all the daily vlogs!

Such an inspiration! I love how diverse all your videos are! Most people have a little bit of everything in them, why not share your little bit of everything? I think lots of women can relate to @CarlieStylez . Especially single moms and young women trying to find their path in life. Keep doing what you do! Also really looking forward to seeing your spiritual side, I'm not mormon but I love hearing people who are passionate about their beliefs! Plus being educated on any faith is good for the soul.

So glad i watched this! normally i really couldn't care less about brand deals, because to me its just like watching a commercial or Ad with tv or anything else. i was bothered when you did a brand deal on your wedding day cause i just felt like really? you couldn't save business and advertising for another day. But since you explained in this video that at the time you were doing all those deals it was your only reliable form of income, i totally get it now. Do what ever you have to whenever you have to to provide for your family don't worry about the judgement.

It absolutely makes sense. The world on a whole has changed when it comes to entertainment and marketing. Content creators little do people know even KZbin has ads all over the place. When some creators post hauls...gocery, makeup or just favorite things doesn't mean its an ad you are just sharing things that you like. But overall thanks for clearing up the mystery of what is like being and what it takes being a content creator. Folks think slap up a video post it and get paid...but its more than that...just like musicians, actors and other entertainers. It maybe all show but its also a BUSINESS!

How I feel about brand deals...if you're making money doing it and you aren't compromising your morals or ethics, YOU GET EM! Also...how the heck am I supposed to know what products are good if I don't see a review first? I'm not going to spend my money on something I know nothing about. I think brand deals are effective in my life because they help me make smart purchases.

Thank you for doing this video. I have a small KZbin channel and I am going through this process of creating content and sometimes I don't know what to do or what to share. You just inspired me to keep doing what I do and the most important part is being genuine and yourself. God bless you and your family!
