I really prefer a vehicle without a sunroof and no leather seats. Sunroof always leak during torrential downpours and leather seating gets very hot in the summer. The display is not mounted on the dash, love that. Wireless charging is useless, no need for that. Lots of amazing features, just no white seats, they must be a dark color. Don't forget the 60,000 mile base warranty and 100,000 mile powetrain warranty. Hyundai has come a long way. Great review.

Sunroofs haven't leaked in years due to a gutter system that channels any water getting through down a tube away from the car interior.

@peterandrewj the Turbo is a 1.6 and the new Smartstream 2.0 is not like the older 2.0 theta II . HOPEFULLY the new Smartstream series will be much better.

I like the light colored interior as it brightens up the car. Particularly important in a base model without sunroof. In teresting that it has a conventional floor-mounted gear selector rather than the column-mounted twist stick on higher models.

I think the "twist" shifter comes with the more powerful engine.

I'm in the market for a compact vehicle and I like the new Koma. It fianlly has: 1. LED headlights as standard! Better visibility. 2. electronic brake (frees up space on a narrow vehicle). 3. Digitla gauges (no more stupid analog speedo that reads to 160mph). 4. Spare tire. 5. You can activate the rear camera on demand (no put in reverse). 6. Higher oof the grounds than a sedan. Sorry, were o live there lots of speedbumps. 7. Is perfect for my short city commutes. I will try to lease one soon.

Depends on what you like. Its enough for city driving but will not win any races. Enough power for daily commuter.

For a base model Kona it’s definitely worth it but I’d rather go for the Kona N or N-line. 👍🏻 Could you review the 24 Sonata N-line when it’s out in the states

Thank you for taking video of the base model. However, I wish you spent some time with the car before you actually made the video. It is obvious you did not since you didn't know that the steering wheel is both tilt and telescopic.

Great review. I'm in the market for an affordable small SUV and Kona is on the list. The base version has some great features but I can't understand why Hyundai cheaped out on some important details: - No padding on door arm rest ! WTF, this makes the car feel ultra cheap to save maybe10 dollars per car ! - Door design with cheap looking unicolor plastics. Feels and looks like a 1990s Hyundai accent. - No leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter (available on upper trim levels). I would trade in the hood struts for the above details. You sit in the car every day but only open the hood once in a while. I like the 17 inch wheels and the manual HVAC controls of the base model but those cheap plastics could be a deal breaker. Any Hyundai execs out there ? ... stop giving us cheap plastic interiors !

Thanks for watching! I dont mind the color on the door panels as much but i would like to see the soft pads on the armrest and maybe something to break up the monotone look. Leather wrapped steering wheel is usually reserved for higher trims so no surprise there. As far as interior quality I think Mazda CX-30 is the winner with more upscale accents.

If you think this new Kona interior is cheap, you should experience the Toyota Corolla Cross interior. It's such a thoughtless design with even cheaper materials.

There is some but not bad. The road that i drove it on was pretty bad. Its average.
