I wonder how long will the 4 cylinders and the turbocharge last on this size body SUV? My Acura TLX has more HP and V6 and smaller body and sometime still struggle. How hard will this 4Runner struggle?

There is a reason the V6 does so well on most vehicles. It's reliable. The moment these car makers go to 4 cylinder turbos it doesnt last as long. Honda is the only one to do it best. I think its Toyotas attempt to force people to buy cars more often.

We really hope to see that manufacturers are listening to the public and consider having more V6 options for upcoming releases as well.

That engine bay looks like a mechanical nightmare. The 4 cylinder with an electric motor will not last as long as the old school V6’s ever did. Then throw in the dealer markup and it’s a no from me. I’ll close with this: there’s a reason why dealers are marking up the 24 TRD Pro 4runners to over $70k. They know they are the last of the good ones.

We love the look of 4runners. But the fuel economy is so lacking we wont buy one.

The last Toyota I owned was a 2005 4Runner Limited with a V8 engine. It was an amazingly capable vehicle. I decided to leave Toyota when the 5th Generation 4Runners came out with only a V6 engine option. And now in 2025, the 4Runner will only be available with a 4-Cylinder engine, which is HALF of what my 2005 beauty had! Add to this, the huge increase in price, coupled with overly complicated system design that WILL suffer more frequent failures, and it is a HARD PASS for many people.

They will drop in value so bad after warranty. And the mileage is really not great good luck Toyota. At that price not sure people will buy it.
