Yea, I was confused when you said they missed the control rod but pointed to the control stick. These new kits are extremely impressive.

The most prominent difference of Mk.VIII and late Mk.IX (C and E both) / Mk. XVI from the early Mk IXC is a different wing: shorter ailerons, different wing root shrouds, shorter Hispano cannons barrels shrouds and additional fuel tanks in the wing leading edges near the roots. So that's why we have the separate sprue with the new wing parts. And of course, retractable tail wheel.

Well there you go, not particularly interested, nice to watch a review, Australian markings a bit more interested, then Morotai was mentioned well that makes a difference. My father was in the RAAF and served as a wireless operator on Morotai! Thanks for the info. I always thought it was interesting that RAAF dropped the red circle in the Pacific, but you wouldn't want to be mistaken for a Japanese aircraft.

I had to laugh, when you were looking at the difference in the wings I realised I was shouting "ailerons" at the screen.

Perhaps, the control rod is somewhere on the sprues and they forgot to mention it in the instructions, no mater what, it's very easy to put a little stainless steel rod there... I'd love to build that but no room, unfortunately.

Thanks Nigel, for the clarification, I think I'll use a bit of plastic rod. Unless the after market guys come up with the goods. I think with this kit, it might get started straight away. (Clears the existing bench full with a sweep of the wrist 😂 ).
