You should’ve hit a good rim repair shop. I know you said you don’t wanna cut corners but what do you think chevys gonna do with your rim... definitely not throw it out.. they’re gonna get a good shop that pepboys mavis etc bring their problem tires to fix it and resell it.. I had 20s on my car and bent my rims bad. it looked like a hook, the shop by me fixed it up like it was never there I spent like 300

every time you decide to repair a rim the structural integrity of the overall metal is compromised aka the wheel is not as strong as new strength, and much more prone to bending or cracking.This is a result of the heat that has to be displaced on the rim in order to fix it. On any car that is going to be driven in a spirited fashion you obviously want your wheels to be as strong as possible, god for bid anything.

The issue is the size of the tire. The tires are wide therefore there's a specific mounting machine. You may want to refrain from taking the car to local shops as they may scratch the rims .

Happened to me!!! roadside towed me to a Insured recommended Body shop....bump in road bent both rims and messed up under-plate. Everything cost $6000k insured paid all but deductible. Did your insurance go up? well mine did! 08-335i-fbo-n54 i run race wheels! but still...crazy though! also i would never take my car to an unqualified shop NEVER!! LOL pilots only goes on one direction and on a specific way on BMW"s!! and they have to be coded to the car from the ECU!! I'm guessing the same apply for Corvette bro!

They had a problem putting on the tire cause it's a run flat they are a extremely thick tire my shop I take my vette to doesn't put on run flats for my c5 they recommended a non run flat tire pep boys prob wouldn't of had the prob if it was a non run flat tire

Always take you Z06 to the dealer for repairs of any kind, that is not your typical vette. Yow will also need to get an alignment as well as checking the under carriage.

Yes align all wheels as close to 0 as possible as your probably not going to track that way you will wear those tires if lucky over 20,000 miles.

LMFAO the people in these comments are funny as hell, with a car this and track ready most likely GM does not repair the rim. Heating up metal to bend it back in place makes the rim weaker than getting a new one (for a normal car thats not a big issue, but for a car were you put tons of load and stress on the wheel and tire just get a new one to be safe) also the corvette pretty much have racing tires made for the street, and most shops dont have a machines that fit the tire size, hell over here in houston we cant even take a corvette through the car wash the tires are too big.
