In 1965 Honda was junk and Briggs was the reliable. Then Honda's quality became terrific. Now Briggs, Honda (no longer made in Japan), and Lifan are very good products. The Lifan fuel injected electric start engine shows what is now possible (2024) in a small reliable powerful motors.

Maintenance is easy on the Cali Trimmer. Everything is replaceable, common, and easy to maintain. The Mclane bearings need to be replaced every ten-twenty years, parts are not inexpensive.
