If I understand the China car rules, once a car reaches a maximum of 15 years old and 600,000 kilometers (372,000 miles) it’s a mandatory scrapping. To put that into perspective, the vast majority of cars and small trucks in the west have been retired and left the road for salvage in the west. However, that is only about about 1/2 to 1/3 the mileage reached by heavy duty commercial vehicles where it’s not uncommon for commercial vehicles to exceed 1,600,000 kilometers (1,000,000) miles. And a large number of privately owned cars and small trucks exceed 25-40 years old in good operating, functional, mechanical and good cosmetic condition. I have a fully licensed, insured functional unrestored original condition pickup that’s over 30 years old sitting in my driveway right now. I live in Ireland and we have an annual car inspection.For private vehicles it’s called The N.C.T. It’s done at a test centre by a company contracted to the government. Every car over five is inspected every two years and once the vehicle reaches ten it’s annually at a cost of €55. Reasonable enough for someone to rigorously examine your car but My commercial vehicle is annually too and that costs €110.Commercial vehicle tests are carried out by private garages.Pretty sure it’s the same in the UK except private garages are certified to carry out inspection for both private and commercial vehicles. It is Pretty annoying to adhere to especially if you have more then one vehicle. It’s pretty strict but I suppose we have a lot less tyre blowouts,brake failure and other preventable types of accidents .less pollution should also get a mention. Also we had a bit of a bribery scandal a few years back with the nct so no judgement here.

In the UK, the compulsory annual test, applicable for all vehicles over three years old, is called an MoT. In 2021, the maximum fee for a car is £54.85 and £29.65 for a standard motorcycle. The test is very rigorous, takes about three hours for a car, and performed by authorised private garages. Vehicles must be presented in a reasonably clean state, not for cosmetic reasons, but purely to facilitate inspection. When a test is done in a period up to one month before the expiry date, then the validity is extended to one year after this date. Heritage and historic vehicles over 40 years old that are unmodified are exempt; however, they must be maintained in a roadworthy condition. Agricultural tractors are also exempt. Full details are available on the gov.uk website.

@Waverlyduli2 жыл бұрын
Jerome Barry They say the Chinese government jobs are popular because it's impossible to get fired from one and though the base salary is nothing special the opportunity to salary supplement on the sly makes it very desirable. Businesses simply factor in the bribes as the cost of running a business, from removing the deliberate inertial force on one of your applications to getting one over a competitor by tipping the right official, it's all part of the 'unofficial' economy. If you're foreign you need good guidance because bribing the wrong parasite is not only a waste of money but can result in an ongoing financial burden, regardless. Some say it's not quite as bad as it used to be but I'd need to see that for myself.
@bog42402 жыл бұрын
@@Waverlyduli That's just how it is in third worlds. Say, compare to Europe where you have to pay a higher official tax, third world with lower taxation has an added fee, which is the unofficial tax. It's a very common practice.
@Waverlyduli2 жыл бұрын
@@bog4240 Bribes are not tax. There are fundamental differences in their impact on economies. Taxes can be redirected to alleviate poverty or to invest in infrastructure or productive parts of the economy as intelligent policy dictates. Extensive research has shown that corruption or dirty money can't be spent in the usual way because of fear of being caught. Consequently, it is often smuggled or taken out of the country to buy property in other countries, stupid luxury goods, or hidden under the floor, etc. Consequently, dirty money tends not to be reinvested in productive ways (like starting a company, or factory that employs workers in that same economy and country from where it was taken. Therefore, it is truely wasted and makes an economy less productive and wealthy. So, there are both strong economic and moral reason to reduce corruption and bribes in economies. There are also other good economic reasons why corrupt money is less efficient than taxes.
@kitsinu12 жыл бұрын
It is worse than that. In the CCP, you need a patron to protect you from other CCP members because the CCP is very cut-throat. You obtain a patron by providing him with money in exchange for his protection. So, any manager in the CCP is going to get bribe money from people that deal with him, and from his subordinates simply out of the need to protect himself. Failing to take bribes means you have no protection from higher up, and your job is available to anyone who does have patronage that wants it. Only the lowest level members of the CCP can afford to be honest.
@bog42402 жыл бұрын
@@Waverlyduli I was looking at it from a business owner's standpoint. Honestly, it doesn't even matter if we pay tax because our third world government is so corrupt it would have the same result as flat out bribing them. The Chinese make them to fail. They think it’s job security. What a waste. The world needs to take heed. We are asking other nations to “do the ecological thing”, which cost money to do and the Chinese are doing this. All the “green cars” are dirty energy. Mining destroys the land. There has to be massive amounts of fresh water to manufacture the parts needed, there has to have great waste water treatment plants to keep the hard metal and toxins out or it will destroy the ground water. Then u have to be able to ecologically dispose of the batteries because they are toxic and can destroy the land and ground water. Green energy is dirty energy, it is not substantial energy. What source is the electricity coming from, more coal burning plants? The only ones who want u to go “green” are the people who are going to get rich off of it. Say no to the “green monster”.
