Always exciting to see a new Arriva London fleet upon us, as Arriva do have a lot of elderly buses that need replacing imminently. I’m hopeful that these next few years will be the years where Arriva get to turn the tables at last!

Will do! I'm told they should go a full day on one charge, but I suspect they won't take a chance and buses will be rotated through out the day for a couple of hours boost

You wont see these at DT and if you do it wont be for a few years reason being is not much money is put into DT as arriva london is more worried about the london garages and also they will need a lot of money to put the charging facilities into into DT aswell but from what ive heard from a driver at DT someone who i know from when i worked there she said they are looking to put the charging points in the garage just not sure when so you never know

@@Zombies12316 TfL have no money now anyhow. I think the tender for the 279 was for electric buses but TfL said too expensive, so the tender has been offered again with an option to put LT's (Borisbuses) on it. The tender is over due so will be interesting to see if it gets LTs or not

Although it has not yet been confirmed, logically the 279 should get the same ones as the 307 as this keeps engineering training to a minimum and only one set of spare parts need to be stocked etc

There are charging issues, the leads supplied are shorter than what we ordered so can only charge around 7 buses. 7 are expected to enter service on Monday 12th, but a 100% allocation wont happen until all can be charged in one hit over night

@@BristolRE yeah makes sense. I’m surprised though that the 307 was chosen over the 279 since the 279 has been using the same enviro 400’s since 2011. I do know that the 279 has a significantly higher PVR count but I don’t think those Enviro 400’s are likely to be around for much longer. The W3 is getting rid of its enviro 400’s later this year as it’s going to use the buses from the 78 as that will transfer to Go-Ahead London.

@@AB-ii5pi The 307 was a new tender, at the time the 279 still had 18+ months to run on it's current tender. The new contract for the 279 starts in the Autumn of this year and it will be getting electric buses sometime in 2024 when they get delivered

Still no firm date, but they may try to get 2 or 3 out in the week or so, but I'd expect them to all be out in service by the end of June. Enviro 400s will stay I guess until next year when the electric buses for the 279 start arriving
