I think you'll like it. I use the 1/8th 130amp 1900kv spectrum combo in my maxx and it's a pretty nice set up. I also just zip tied the fan on the motor. 👍

I just swapped a e-revo motor and esc into my maxx v1 same chassis. Very tight fit. For the motor mount u might want to get 8960x its made for the maxx to have a bigger motor in it. I used hot racing battery strap for a long time to hold down my tall 4s batteries but I went ahold and got the pure-tech quick mounts for extra holding cuz im running 2 3s 5200 batteries in it. I also run belted tires on mine

Nice man! So your able to run two 3s packs stacked now? I feel like the stock mount should be able to hold the motor I’ve got in it…..it’s held with four screws

@@RCKnockout yes I am. When i get a chance im gonna load a short video of me taking it for its first run on 6s. Can not give it full trigger. It wants to pull the front off the ground as im it’s getting down the road or in the grass

u should get the sledge hammer tires for it they would just top it off also my ruslter 4x4 esc is back and I carn't figure out how to make it fixed bc the steering is throdel and I tried to fix it by watching the traxxas support vid but it didn't help do u know how t ofix it??

Yep I had to make adapters , ive went through 4 escs in last couple months funny the maxx one still working good and I beat on it more than others never messing with gearing and running same batteries I guess or just luck of the draw

I put max 8 in the maxx but like you said the traxxss esc so freaking big not sure where I'm going use it

You can still use the traxxas 2400kv once you get adapters or change the ends, I tried it on 6s its uncontrollable

@@RCKnockout me as well, I've got one of the Spektrum 150 amp escs but it doesn't work well. It doesn't let me tune it. But I've also ran Spektrum in a few of my rigs but I'm just slowly switching to Hobbywing because they're always reliable. Just like everything else in the hobby, it's personal preference

That is the same heat sink I have on motor in my Kraton 6s, it takes some gloves to get it on, but its the only option my local shop had🤣

@@RCKnockout yep, it was a bitch🤣 Take the fan off and grab some leather gloves, she'll go. I would prefer something made for it, but motor gets real hot on 6s and I'm a little impatient sometimes

By the way, Traxxas specifically makes a bigger motor mount for converting this to 6s. It fits the larger can. 4s mount =8960. 6s mount = 8960X

@@RCKnockout the main benefit is the larger rear hoop to keep it from moving on jumps and the bottom piece actually cradles a little better. Fit my Castle 2200kv perfect. Only $8-10.

Hey I bought this same setup and can’t seem to bind the esc with the Traxxas remote. Any ideas how to bind??

Binding is just between the transmitter and the receiver….is the esc turning on? Also is the esc wire plugged into the correct channel?

@@RCKnockout the esc is turning on but won’t respond to the remote inputs. I have the esc plugged into channel 3 and steering servo into channel 2. I believe this is how it was with the old esc… what channel is it supposed to be plugged into

I switched my maxx to a 6s and I don’t have the range anymore it makes it like 15 feet then looses connection till I get closer. Any chance you know why?

@@RCKnockout I just had my hobby shop order one for the Hoss I don't think I'm going to get it now I think I'll just spend a hundred and fifty-nine on the 6s and just run 4s I mean I have a spectrum 120 amp esc then I'm going to put in my granite because that's literally perfect for the Hoss so I might put it in that instead I'm glad I seen this before spending a hundred and forty bucks and a 4S Traxxas ESC to have it freaking break

@RC Knockout you'll get it. I struggled alot at first. Just get some scrap and solder ends until your satisfied.
