Nice video, I’m having a similar issue on a 2 week old Goodman. I’m going to back and test it the way you did, thanks!

Nice find Ulises, in hind sight when you pressure tested it out on the floor. It seem to pressurize really fast, because you were only pressurizing 1/2 of the coil. 4 pm on a Friday made coil. I hope you get the labor covered.
@OcRefrig7 жыл бұрын
Yea, they Definately owe him many hours for labor. For sure thier fault. I hope he sends them a bill for at least a days labor.

I know this is three years old now but it popped up in my feed and I believe the two u bends at top of apex should be rotated 90 degrees
@UlisesPalacios4 жыл бұрын
Yup. That’s correct Joe. Can you believe they gave me two coils like that. Fool me once shame on me lol. I definitely checked the second one.

Damn 390 psi of nitrogen? What’s the tonnage, 4/5 ton unit? You ain’t scared about fittings, LP/HP switches blowing or leaking after the pressure test.
@savagetampa41124 жыл бұрын
Will say that you actually are doing better than most techs and not just doing nothing. Or using a digital leak detector. I’d assume you’re using soapy bubbles tho with nitrogen
@UlisesPalacios4 жыл бұрын
Savage Tampa yeah it was probably a little too much. Usually I’ll go to 150 max. Unless it’s a vrf system. They recommend 600 psi nitrogen test.

I have had a lot of issues with brand new Lennox systems. Especially on commercial. Never seen this before so it’s just the icing on the cake. I avoid Lennox at all costs. The equipment is not the problem it’s the quality control. They have warranty and compatibility issues on top of that. We installed 12 rtu’s on one building literally 4 of them had issues. 2 were electrical and the other 2 were out of refrigerant due to joints not being brazed all the way, all Lennox. Yet it Says they were pressure tested. Total joke and waist of time.

WoW, what brand is that? That's a first for me, glad you shared it, I'll keep that in mind for later.

Imagine how many of these were sent out wrong because one idiot on the assembly line thought it didn't matter what way they went on. One bad $16/hr worker can cost you $100,000 in damages in one day and have ZERO liability themselves.
@UlisesPalacios5 жыл бұрын
EightiesTV yup. I had a meeting with a Lennox engineer and Luckily they only had 7 coils of that batch shipped out. It’s an older coil so not to many.

I bet they've but the u bends in the wrong place so theres no circuit to flow through.

Haha teach me to comment before end of vid!
@throttlebottle59067 жыл бұрын
could be or the small/cap tubes slipped back and one or all partial plugged with brazing, or they didn't blow out shavings and debris?
@UlisesPalacios7 жыл бұрын
heavydiesel lol yes sir. They had a rep come look at the coil with me. They had a few that where wrong

throttle bottle I took it completely apart. I thought that was my problem at first.

yeah, I'm guilty of commenting before watching whole video LOL! and I figured QC would have caught such obvious flaws, then again, I recall the QC at every factory I worked at, Quality Control was and is the installers and worst yet consumers :))

ohh, since you think/know it;s bad, put water through it backwards and see if any of the 4 cap/small tubes has no flow, that would show you which line was plugged anyway. or better yet a smoke machine if you have one :) and never-mind that, I didnt watch whole vide before flapping my gums :))) busted!!!!! but busy so lol...

Wow,ate allot of time on their dime.Warranty 4 hours per coil.
@throttlebottle59067 жыл бұрын
probably nobody wanting to do the factory work for peanut pay, so they're using temp services and the folks are brain baked on drugs. drug testing does no good as they all clean up enough to pass initial testing, then go off the rails. I did lots of night shift temp service work for extra $$$ in the 90's and early 2k's, not a place one didn't want me back or try to hire me within the first two days, I always declined :) this seems to be the most likely scenario >_>
