Dear@@fozzybear93. Hi there! You are Great. Awesome. You've been deep studying Japanese, right? It is written in the 7th volume of 日本書紀(NIHON-SHOKI) as "吾嬬者耶(AZUMAHAYA)". Its meaning is "Alas.... my wife." (≒ I miss you) ※日本書紀(NIHON-SHOKI) is the Japan's oldest history book of the dynasty officially compiled by the nation. In add. Currently, both [the current kanji "妻"] and [the old-style kanji "嬬"] are read as "tsuma", and also both recognized as "wife". So, "吾嬬" and "吾妻" are considered the same thing, there is no problem. The meaning of "つま(tsuma)" itself originally meant the spouse and there was no gender distinction. After that, in order to distinguish men and women, "妻" or "嬬" was assigned to the female of the spouse. ※ The meaning of "吾" is "I" or "my" or "me". However, the original source of each word is different. "嬬" meant "weak". Therefore, "嬬" isn't only legal-wife but also means "mistress(lover) / concubine", in China. "妻" is "thing / person to snuggle". Do you know that one of the Japanese dishes, 刺身(sashimi) has many long and narrow / thin-cut radish? That cut radish is also called "tsuma". The kanji notation is also "妻". ※※Even the Japanese, there are hardly any J-people who understand the details deeply. Thanx for your complete reading! and I'm fuckin' tired too.....LOL

Yes LNER runs mainly from Edinburgh, Newcastle, Durham, York, London Kings X. That’s the non Azuma service. The Azuma service goes by the name of the Flying Scotsman (after a steam loco ran that route) the Azuma stops at Edinburgh, Newcastle, Durham ( I believe) then missing out York onto London Kings X. Hope this helps

This new train looks looks nice and modern my only gripe is the back ground noises echoes whining ect it seemed to have the effect of being on an upgraded suburban commuter type train than a long distance intercity express.
First Class seats look tiny compared to the big black leather ones. putting the plugs between the seats looks like it has taken a few inches of seat space away. How were they for comfort. My trips to London can take 4 hours and i need a nice seat!

It's nice that the standard class seats are red to keep with the LNER colour scheme, not the horrible grey used on the GWR units. The seats also look alot softer than than the ones passengers complained about on Great Western Railway.

The "facilities" (toilets) look very nice and fit for purpose. The window shade is a nice touch and a throwback to trains of old (at least on my side of the pond). All the now required "techie" stuff with outlets. But once again those seats in your new rolling stock look thin and a bit fragile. I know not everyone over in the UK is a svelte model. This is an intercity train not a commuter run. Our trains here are clunky, old, slow as molasses, but do have well padded and reasonably comfortable seats. No jokes please about the need for a comfortable seat on a ride that takes forever. Ironing boards are for shirts not passengers.

Great video showing the actuality of the much heralded Azuma trains on LNER. There's much to praise (leg room, power and USB sockets) but I have concerns also. The digital signage is opaque at best: What does the large "L" at 1:56 mean? (carriage number? If yes, why not say so?). What does the "13:45 Wakefield Westgate" mean? Next station? Current time? Arrival time? If yes, just say so. What do the seat signs mean? At 5:13 what do "current" and "next" mean - reserved or free? If I'm correct, why not say so; it would be easier to understand for punters like me and foreign visitors too. Finally, the dreadful electronic loos. When will railway companies learn that passengers HATE these? In summary, the technical innovations are to be applauded but LNER has lost sight of keeping the customer clearly informed and that's a pity; it wasn't that hard to get right.

So how does the passenger experience rate for comfort compared to a Mk4 set? I expect they are quick from experience with the Javelins but I must say I was quite shocked when I saw how paper-thin and upright the seats looked! One hopes they are not as uncomfortable over long distances as they look? Admittedly the interiors look a little better now than as delivered but its a shame LNER hasn't bothered to come up with a more flattering and individual look than the rather garish VTEC red. Hopefully a more tasteful look might be applied in the not too distant future.

@erictalbot45845 жыл бұрын
IF - and I mean "IF" - The Houston-Dallas train ever gets built - it's a long-shot at best. You have to keep in mind that the people wanting to build it are facing the fiercest of opposition from people in Texas who are fighting it tooth and nail. It is anybody's guess when and/or if the would-be builders of this line get the final permission and funding necessary to construct it. Those opposed to it are hoping they can "run out the clock" to the point where the Bullet Train Consortium finally lose their patience and throw in the towel, pack their bags and head back to Japan. The United States of America may be the LAST place on Earth to get true high speed trains, if it ever gets any at all. I've never seen a country more downright hostile to trains of any kind than the U.S. Our President, Donald Trump, wants the few transcontinental and regional trains operated by Amtrak shut down. The United States is, to say the least, NOT a good environment in which to propose building a bullet train.
