BRAND NEW Nova Lift, but trying to call it was a pain!

The two lift filmers you saw were me and Trizo. I thought I saw someone looking at me as the lift doors closed. We were going around Maidstone checking the status of all 5 Express lifts. Sadly 4/5 are now gone and one has been modernized. It was a very sad day. The lift isn't a brand new nova lift. It is just new logic and new buttons. The lifts are 70s Otis lifts modernized in the 90s by P&D with new buttons and lester logic. A year ago the lift cars have been refurbished, and the logics are now being replaced, so it is like a staggered second modernization. But it can't be said as it is a brand new lift as the Chassis, motor and counterweight are original to the 70s. No modern day lift would feel this heavy duty. Nova were just contacted to do the work, they are not manufactures of any part of the lift.

Also, the most interesting thing about these lifts is the fact that the new Lester logic works as a set with the old Lester logics. I never thought that this would be possible.

I guess describing it as brand new from Nova is a stretch! They did replace all the landing doors too. It seemed faster than the others but that could be because it was running smoother. I wish I'd said something now! When I got down to the mall, I saw it went on Service Control so thought you must be lift filmers so waited then went back up. I didn't see you again though.

Thinking about it, it did seem to go faster. Seems like a new motor then. So the only original part is the Chassis and counterweight.

@@benolifts Not the first time I have seen old and modernised/new elevator running as a group when they have matching logics, not during modernisation tough. However, I have seen that some crappy MP destination dispatch has been replaced by KONE polaris & ecodiscs after just 2 years of service, in wich during the replacements, the KONE polaris logic also controlled the old MP lifts!

You must have been really bored, the day you filmed this! Very entertaining! Otis is one of the best if not the best, elevator/ lift companies on the planet. All I'll say, is that this video, had its ups and downs.

Otis used to be the best company until they installed Gen2s with their silly shaft door protection that makes the lift unreliable whenever a shaft door is opened or it's door rollers being tapped, the panels and handrails are flimsy too. Schindler 7000 series and Mitsubishi are the type of lifts I would consider to be the best type of lifts in the planet.

I live in Maidstone but for some reason I liked the old lifts before they all got replaced by nova but I never knew what happened to that lift before it got replaced it was always off lift 5 was always off before getting replaced since 2011

I was in a mall in Malaysia and we saw these generics lifts. Its brand was "EITA-SCHNEIDER" it has a real pain to use it. It uses generic verison of generic's generic dewhurst. Ive hurted my finger everytime i tried to use the lift.EVERY FREAKING LIFT THERE IS EITA-SCHNEIDER. Total lift in the mall are 12. They used to had 15(?) Lifts and theres another EITA-SCHEIDER thats boarded up and it matches the wall. If you go there and ride the 2 lifts, its off-centred because there used to be another lift but they just like put a wall and decorated it like nothing is there.

Ideal Lifts is one of many 'generic' lift companies out there that install lifts made with generic components. They are usually parts that are as cheap as can be.
