You guys should spend a little time considering how awesome Smuggling is for Han Solo as a leader. Han depletes your hand to give you Ramp. Smuggling gives you effective draws in exchange for higher costs. Crosshair is an effective pass in Twin Suns when you pump him. That can be huge in later game when you want to see everyone else passed before you drop the hammer.

I see y'all are undervaluing Smuggle pretty badly. The card might be expensive for what you get, but it's a card you already resourced out earlier. You're paying extra to play a card that's not in your hand, and as you know, card advantage is king. Cards like those keep you from being screwed when you're topdecking early-game trash in the late game.

Exactly. This is a way to keep resourcing while secretly increasing your handsize. I wouldn't say these Smuggle cards are amazing, but the Smuggle mechanic allows the devs to create versatile cards as well as cards with high surprise factor. Suddenly, Viper Probe Droid isn't as amazing as it was before, and Lieutenant Childsen becomes almost playable. ;) It's like Morph from MtG, but way better.

Also worth noting with using a card for it's smuggle cost is that it technically gives card advantage. It's like the card had draw a card on it when played from hand. That makes the Blaster a lot less bad when removed afterwards, besides being a mini surprise strike already.

I'm betting we're going to see a leader that works directly with Smuggle, making them cheaper, or making them enter play ready, maybe you ignore aspect penalties on smuggled cards. Considering the under power of these smuggle cards that's gotta be what they're going for.

Recorded our second podcast episode tonight: Gotta be honest- Smuggle worries us. Imagine playing in a tournament with relatively new players who are learning the game and they have 3 smuggle cards in their resource row. How much longer will the game take? Also, think of the mind games now that take place OUTSIDE OF THE GAME itself in looking at your face down resource cards when you know you don’t have a snuggle card face down. The mind games are going to be very annoying I think. Like, if you’re a good player, it’s stupid not to look at your face down resources even if you don’t have smuggle so that you’re telling your opponent that they need to play around potential threats that you have face down.

The smuggle cards are almost like a card that lets you draw a card when you play it. A 6 cost 5/5 that lets you draw a card is pretty good. A 7 cost 3/5 sentinel that lets you draw a card sounds like garbage though. In most cases anyway.

Do you need to pay 5 to smuggle the blaster if you have yellow deck and not red

if you have a yellow leader or base you only need to pay the smuggle cost, so in that case it'd just be 3 since you don't need to pay an aspect penalty

Being the first set it’s going to be so obvious when you have a card that can smuggle in your resources. Once you look at what’s in your resources to remind your self you pretty much have have away what you have. Im not a fan of card turning in magic and I’m not excited for this.

I love cards that have two different costs with their own colors (blaster). Just adds another layer of deck building without it being overly complicated. All I can think is how much is Han (leader) going to break the game with smuggle. His biggest problem is cards in hand when he over extends with his ability. Han being able to smuggle cards in the late game to win is literally the coolest thing this game could have given us.

DL 44 works great with Fighters for Freedom. Even when played with smuggle. Resource it. Then when you get FfF in play, smuggle. Deal damage, then attack with attached unit.

I'm curious, and I dont see why not, but if the card you smuggle pays for itself and you draw a replacement resource... are you allowed to look at that replacement card and if it's another card with Smuggle, can you later play that card? Holy run on sentence... sorry

haha no worries! Once a card is in your resource row, you can use it's smuggle ability if it has smuggle, so that would work!

If you Timely Intervention Luke and are running him into his death, can you choose to still resolve the When Played effect from him entering play after he's dead to give a unit -6/-6?

You choose the order of “when played” abilities and ambush is included in that. So you could trigger Luke’s ability first and the ambush

When played, abilities happens on the same time. You choosing which one will tiger first. So TI play to Play Luke then trigger Luke when play ability then trigger ambush from TI ambush ability. see Vader ability i.e.
