I got one and it’s amazing. Just getting back into biking to get into shape. I didn’t want to go all in 6k for a dual suspension just yet. The only upgrades I did was an xt shifter and xt rear disc brakes and rotor. The xt shifter should be the first upgrade. Being able to shift multiple gears on the fly on challenging terrain is incredibly helpful.

Nice spec on that bike. I love a hard tail. Here in the UK they make sense for when the weather is bad and components on full suspension get easily trashed, or where trails are more flow and less technical. Got a 27.5 but tempted by a 29 hardtail.

Man I just picked up the same bike today. Took it for a quick hitter and felt pretty good! I’m coming from a 26 inch 2010 Trek 8000 so it’s quite the change. I know people are hating on it a little but I actually love the paint job. I am kind of a trek fan boy and their lineup features so much white, silver, black, red etc that this is a welcome addition in my opinion. I’m also normally a middle of the lineup guy but it just seemed to make sense to go big! Anyway, hope you end up liking it and I’ll probably sub to your channel so I can follow along for upgrade ideas. Have fun!

Great bike, looking forward to seeing more with it! I just picked up a 2022 Roscoe 8 and I love it! I had put a deposit down on a Roscoe 7, but this 8 came in first and happened to be my size --XL-- in my favorite color -- Mulsanne Blue! I also upgraded to the Bontrager Line Elite pedals; other than that, this thing is ready to rip right off the showroom floor.

I just went through a similar experience. Was out shopping for a FS bike and rode a Roscoe on a whim. I was not looking for a hard tail at all… but everything with the bike just felt right. I rode a coupe other bikes but couldn’t get the Roscoe out of my head. I now have a 7 in the garage.

I’ve had a Roscoe 9 for almost 6m now… best bike over ever had. From the looks to feasibility it’s an absolute beast. I’ve conquered some of the hardest terrain without a thought. It’s so much fun without the maintenance.

I got my 9 June 1st in Idaho. I paid 2900 after tax which is spendy especially for a hardtail but I have zero regrets. I'm a little more into mine after the initial cost because I bought a different saddle and put 50mm rise bars on mine, I also took the 203mm rear rotor off of my other bike and swapped out the 180mm rear rotor that it comes with, I'm a big guy and i like lots of braking ability because i don't care to go fast down hill. Other than that I haven't needed to change anything and for whatever reason, it has really changed my riding dynamic. Its a badass bike

Nice choice for a new bike. Congratulations! This Roscoe 9 is so nicely speced that it will be more difficult to tweek/upgrade it 😁. I think you have made a good choice. I really wouldn't know what to change. Pedals seem good. Maybe just seat and cockpit to adjust to your preferences. Good luck with the new Roscoe 9. 👍

@abcde12345edcba The Roscoe 9 is a really nice high end hardtail and has some nice suspension in the front and usually hardtails are more flickable and lighter plus you don’t have to worry about as much maintenance and you’ll get better parts for the price so it makes a lot of sense that he bought a high end hardtail instead of a full suspension.

I actually think its better to just upgrade or work on a bike that you have already. I know you were saying that you're not really into the technical piece when it comes to MTB in one of your videos but i do think it would help build content and relatability. I also think, because this is a hobby of yours, it only helps to know the ins and outs of a bike should anything goes wrong like stripping one of those screws on the adapter haha. Most of us really can only have so few bikes due to financial or even spatial reasons so upgrading one is probably more content worthy. Just a thought.

Nice purchase! I wish it had one more high gear, what I love the most about these bikes is the frames. You need a ergon saddle and new grips I wish they would stop putting them grips on bikes but I think it's a chain supply issue

Love the new Roscoe 9. Bike looks perfect for you, great choice. I'd actually been wondering why you hadn't upgraded to one earlier. You're a Trek fan and a hardtail fan and you're becoming a really solid rider so it seems like a prefect fit. Considered trading in my 2021 Roscoe 8 on one, but the payoff just isn't there for me yet. I don't spend enough time riding to justify the increased cost. I still haven't mastered the 8, so I've still got some improving to do before I really need a better bike.🥺

Tip: change the shifter to a XT version. For some reason manufactures install a better derailleur as the shifter but the shifter is more important. The XT shifter gives you the opportunity to change three gears lighter in one push.

Love to see it. I'm usually a mid range kind of guy too but it doesn't seem worth it to get the Roscoe 8 IMO. Either 7 or 9 is the best value, and you get access to the cool paint jobs.

I appreciate your videos on the roscoe, I found your channel when I was shopping for one to upgrade from my Marlin 7. I ended up getting sold on the roscoe 8. I preferred the sram gx eagle drivetrain, and the matte olive color was sick. You can’t go wrong with the fox36 tho 👍🏻

I actually just ordered this roscoe 9 a week ago, I was following your channel on the other roscoes you had to see if you liked those before I decided to purchase the bike. I actually got a good deal on this; got a 25% discount so it was only about $2,100. I'm a teen and only about 5'7, so I was thinking about going with the M/L (if I grow more), however when I tried it out in the shop, I realized it was a bit too big for me. Went with the medium instead following suggestions from the staff in there, so hopefully it should be the right size and allow me to grow a bit more. Interested to see how much you like the bike after a lot of riding!

Damn bro Your killing it! Smh my trek store is lacking and kind of got me annoyed at the moment. When buying my marlin I had no idea about the Roscoe’s when I asked my other options since I’m new to all this. Well they cant get them so didn’t mention them, didn’t like that. Also they just gave me the bike with no info… I asked them to run me through the bike and what I need to know. they showed me fork adjustments… kind of… an that’s it. Smh. Kind of gave me the feeling if I put 4K or more down I would of got the full treatment but who knows. Oo ya no test rides either lol. I would of got the 7 or even 8 over the 6 if I was able to feel the difference since all the bikes look good sitting lol. but again whatever. There’s another trek store in the city over il try next time. Love the new ride, I need to find one to try out.

Man I’m sorry to hear that, some bike stores are just like that, I have a few near me that are. Luckily my trek store has some cool guys. They should’ve been asking you what kinds of trails you’re trying to ride and your experience and everything so they can put you on the bike that fits you best. One thing I like about the Roscoes is that they are so easy to ride and pretty much anybody can get on one and have fun and not feel like it’s too much bike

Nice bike and awesome color! Have you ever considered clipless pedals? I just switched to them and cannot believe the efficiency increase for climbing. Some of the more technical trails are scary, but I have pedals set for easiest release. Reminds me of my ski bindings.

If you're going to do a e-bike conversion I highly recommend Trek... a number five a number 6 or a number 7 work great the 8 the nine have higher end components that most mid-drive Motors will wreck so don't waste your money on the higher end components. I'm looking forward to when all your bicycles become through axle and keep up all the great engineering.

Nice. A few months ago I got the urge to get into biking after like 20 years of not riding anything. Was thinking of the fuel ex, then the slash, then I think your roscoe 8 videos were what made me think for what I'll be riding, I should just save the money and get a hardtail. Got the blue roscoe 8 and it's great. I would have got the 9 if they had one, but oh well, it's nice to have a nice bike. A shifter that works flawlessly and the dropper post are quite the upgrade to anything I've ridden as a teen in the early 2000s.

Congrats on the bike and the videos! I'd love to hear about your first impressions on the difference between your 2 Roscoe's. The new one is 29 inch, and has 65 degree head angle. How does it feel riding it compared to the old model? i know this is a roscoe 9 and the old one was a 7, but I expect the big difference is in the new wheels and geometry!!???

Man, I remember when the Roscoe was a very sweet, very capable all mountain full suspension bike trek made under the Gary Fisher brand. I had one. I was absolutely a Fisher fanboy and it crushed me to see Trek just dissolve the brand like they did. I hear the Roscoe 9 is a great hardtail so I'm not gonna get on Trek's case too much about it 🙂
