Oldis Rd / JJ leathersmith make really nice wallets. I enjoyed the time it took for the flap to completely mold shut, which was 1 month. people just need to wait patiently. This wallet gets a lot of compliments everywhere I go and the patina is wonderful, like a fine wine

I’ve been subscribed to walletopia for a few years now. I love your content and watched EVERY video you put out. I have enjoyed seeing your reviews on wallets I may not have been aware of. One thing I would ask, is that you would find other obscure companies to review. Maybe get some random wallets from Etsy etc. It seems most reviews are from the same companies over and over. I’m glad you review the big names and popular brands, but maybe also review other lesser known companies.

drop the flap, make it slightly wider (3mm?) for taller currency. And drop the price. The sale price sounds about right. Actually I always feel like more rustic a product looks the less it should cost comparented to more finished products should be less expensive, even though materials may be more expensive and they may be handmade. But I sort of like the cash wrap.
@OldisRoad2 ай бұрын
We've been at it 12 years. most of those brands that do it cheaper will either raise their prices or go out of business. Running a company isn't the same as selling a few wallets out of your shed.
@MSimmonsAZ2 ай бұрын
@@OldisRoadI don't think I understand. If the prices are lower and I buy at a lower price, I don't care if they raise the price later. I am interested in value, meaning quality/price. I was not saying that the more rustic the look the less expensive it should be. Only that to my eyes I would choose the less rustic looking in the same price range. However, I am not your target anyway. I have never spent more than $50 on a wallet. And before finding walletopia 4 years ago, never more than $25 every 10 or more years. I heard a jeans maker being interviewed within the last year. The question was why don't they make more clothes in the US. The answer was they tried, and if the jeans were labeled made in the USA and cost $5 more than the foreign made they didn't sell. $2 more same thing. He said at $0.01 they sold about equally.

@@MSimmonsAZ low quality products have made it had for a lot of brands to charge what something is worth. I get that there are cheaper options. But that's not the game what we are playing. We make quality goods, pay our people well and include sustainable pricing. We are in this for the long haul and our prices are part of that.

hello I would like your opinion on a wallet that I want to buy, you are an expert and can help me, the product is called kjore project iclutch with coin pocket, look for it and observe it and tell me if it is good, my doubt is if I insert the coins inside the pocket, then it could fill up too much? can credit cards bend?
@MSimmonsAZ2 ай бұрын
You haven't asked me... but I have had wallets with coin pockets. This looks like a fine design, unless you plan to putting it in a back pocket and sitting on it. I think if you are going to often have the change pocket full then it will be heavy, and perhaps a bit unwieldy when looking for the propper coins. Also it probably holds a lot more than your daily needs so you may want to add or remove daily. I have lived in Japan where coins used everyday, the largest being roughly $5.

This design has always been rather repulsive to me. It's impractical, ugly stitching on the front, issues with security, bulky, and doesn't work with bigger currency. Nothing really appealing here. It seems like it's just trying to be different for the sake of being different but it comes across very poorly.

Wallets with leather flaps make zero sense. It’s just added weight and bulk and flappy action for no reason at all. Why anyone would ever buy a wallet with a stupid flap on it is beyond my comprehension
@pepleatherlab38722 ай бұрын
Yeah, I feel the same. I won't craft them unless the flap has features ergonomic to its design (like additional slots or a snap pocket.) Honestly, I typically ignore most fold and stitch designs as there's no creative validation in them. A microcosm of Leather artists crafting leather products as ergonomic art for people who enjoy quality leather. These punch and stitch single piece wallets are like ketchup on Wonderbread. You're just asking yourself 'Why??"🤷🏽♂
