Etudes macro effect is only active while you control a bystial monster. So unless you go into Bystial Dis Pater the effect is turned off.

20:41 Use Branded Albion as your mirrorjade food instead of Granguinol. Not only do you keep Granguinol's GY effect live if your opponent has shenanigans in response to Albaz' activation, but you get an additional search with Albion at end of turn to get another Branded Fusion. If played correctly, this deck gets to resolve Branded Albion's search effect literally every turn. For that reason, I -strongly- recommend finding room for a second Searing Lubellion in the extra deck. You have a near endless stream of fusions and 2 Lubellions gives you a lot more ability to recycle your dead fusions into Mirrorjades/Luluwaliliths/Dragostapellias depending on what the rest of your ED looks like while still having the prospect of using them again later in a simplified gamestate if necessary. For that reason, definitely don't sleep on Baronne's Standby Phase ability to revive Red Eyes Dark Dragoon (if you're running him) or Sanctifire after burning her negate as well. This deck's biggest selling point to me is that you get to not only vomit half your extra deck on the board in one turn for 5-8 interactions on their turn, but still have the grindgame of the gods being able nearly fully reassemble your entire board each turn unless you're OTK'd.

At 19:29 since the sanctifire play is illegal, you can instead, during the end phase use opening to summon quem dumping retribution for guaranteed follow up. Then when you use cartesia and lubellion to synchro for Lulu quem triggers to re summon albaz to fuse with your opponent's board

I think the fusion based builds will still be better this format. You are only able to play 3 going 2nd cards in Dark Ruler, which doesnt do anything against a Noir, or if all your spell/trap zones are locked, and even if you did switch the dark rulers to kaijus, all you have to rely on is kaijus, vs SHS or Kash probably wont work out too well, imo. I think the fusion version especially with the gimmick puppet is the best. Since you don't have to play a bunch of bystial engine, you can run 9-12 going 2nd cards and have a chance in multiple matchups.

I think it really depends on what people will play. I dont see really usefull to play a lot of bystials if the oppponent plays SHS bc you cant banish any of them and you will have to banish your own gy. There is a reason why people in OCG are not playing that much bystials. The only good match ups would be like Mathmech and D Link but most of the people will play SHS, Purelly and Kash.😅

Yea this deck gets rolled by Kash, good luck playing when you can’t use lubellion (since they only play 1) and without dragoon you’re chances of breaking their board is very low. Who cares if they have the ash, and if they do, you’re even more skrewed.

Actually for the blooper at 16:59, if you only want to make Mirrorjade then Cartesia+Albaz is correct, just make Albion and banish Albaz+Lulu for Mirrorjade. You don't even need to discard.

Honestly the power ceiling for this version of branded despia seems way lower than the original guardian chimera builds. Not sure if this is just better consistency but there aren’t many interruptions being put up

I love the profile, but we should stop pretending that Nadir is this ultimate Ash-counter card. It's a good card and a great extender, but getting a single Mirrorjade is not "countering Ash". If you play Crossout, and Ash and Imperm for targets, while it might not be the best idea this format since neither of them will be as relevant as before, you do risk Crossout being a dead card in hand but it has upsides too. Crossout in the mirror is still insanely good and Branded is the most popular deck at locals, OTSes, Regionals and maybe even Nats. It does let you play through Ash and you can end on much more compared to Nadir servant. Playing Ash means you can play Droll (a turn ender against the most prominent decks) and have an answer to Gamma. Playing Imperm means you have an out to Bagooska, which is probably the second biggest weakness of the deck, and a card that SHS and most other meta decks can easily make. Also both Imperm and Ash are better in the mirror than Droll and Ogre (the most popular handtraps as of now). I'm not saying playing the Crossout package is better than the Nadir package; in a lot of situations it's objectively worse, however it is still a viable option in my opinion. Also I don't think boarbreakers are the way to go in a meta where super cheap decks can FTK or handloop you.

i prefer to play high spirits over nadir. Here's why, high spirits plays around droll, it can be added back to your hand from your grave, its searchable, it doesn't lock you from special summoning from the extra deck, high spirits gives you any monster that mentions fallen of albaz, and its cheaper. if anyone can come up with a reason why nadir is better, im all ears.

Nadir can mill Sprind, that summons Kitt in the End Phase, getting you High Spirits + Albaz in GY + a more flexible ED mill in the end phase. Personally i run them both.

One thing to note is that lulu summons from deck or HAND. So you can add back cartesia witu its effect then summon it on the field if you don't have any left in the deck . Also a good exercise to practice playing branded is playing without branded fusion altogether,this helped me a lot in understanding the convoluted combo lines this deck can generate
