The lyrics of this song.......... I dedicated 40 years of my life to him and our marriage. When I received a terminal cancer diagnosis, he decided he "didn't sign up to be married to a cancer patient". In my heart, I have this intense feeling he is making the biggest mistake of his life by walking away from his family. He is throwing all of the good inside him into bad endeavors. It is just so amazing that this song means so many different things to so many different people. Thank you for letting me share my story. Brandi Carlile rules and I'm going to see her at the Greek Theatre on the same day as my divorce court hearing. Nobody can take that from me.

🌹This is one beautiful song.🎼🎓Brandi Carlile is an💯expert at capturing deep💔pain and✍🏻pens it🤍well. I♥️listen to🎶lyrics closely and when she writes; 🎶.., are you fantacizing, you're taking us for granted,..", ".., I was an unfinished song,.." and ".., you want blood from a stone,.." those are deep💔emotions that are hard to capture and difficult to express and Brandi Carlile does it best! She's got🎁the gift of explaining🤍humanity through her lyrics. 🤦🏻♀️There's just one🤏🏻part my good ear catches and I'm💭wondering if you can hear it too? When🌹Brandi sings the word "fantasizing" at 01:30 I hear "are yr fat is so thin"? My Son hears "fairly certain"?😂I think it's a🇺🇸Nashville accent. She's🤲🏻created her génre (yet to be named) and I'm so grateful the way she grows and helps others (especially me) to🤍grow. 🇺🇸Brandi Carlile is🌟brilliant. 🇨🇦✌🏻🎶♥️🇺🇸(+🇺🇦)✨🌎💫

Brandi carlile I love you. This song really made me realize how badly I fucked up. I had someone irreplaceable next to my side and I always thought it was gonna be this way until I started neglecting them throwing good after bad, and I’ll never ever get what I had. It makes me cry inside and feel hopeless, and I’ve been dancing alone for so long. Mistakes are what make us human but this one makes me feel the opposite. Without them I have nothing, and so that’s the way it is. That’s why this song really touched me and wounded me further. I already had my best, and I haven’t yet had my worst. This album is literally perfection and I swear all of these songs help me discover new things about myself

Lyrics Ooh, ooh, ooh I know you're leavin' me I know I'm not your home You want a movie dancer You want blood from a stone But I'm on to you And you will pour your heart into Any shimmering fad Throwin' good after bad People get addicted to The rush, the chase, the new Just hopin' that all that chaos Will lead to somethin' like this I'll get over you But you won't be whole until you do You won't find what you had Throwin' good after bad And I'll always feel a little left behind But that lyin' wind that calls your name Will leave you flyin' blind Are you fantasizin'? You're takin' us for granted I know you're bored You always say I'm heavy handed You got a beautiful mind And the soul of a coyote Hunger drivin' you mad Throwin' good after bad Hunger drivin' you mad Throwin' good after bad I know you loved me once You were somethin' to prove I was an unfinished song You were nothin' to lose I'm a dandelion And when my color suited you You allowed me to grow But you know when you know And now the party's over And you're dancin' alone You've been spinnin' 'round for hours The band have all gone home And you're fantasizin' You're takin' us for granted I know you're bored You always say I'm heavy handed You got a beautiful mind And the soul of a coyote Hunger drivin' you mad Throwin' good after bad Hunger drivin' you mad Throwin' good after bad Hunger drivin' you mad Throwin' good after bad Hunger drivin' you mad Ooh, ooh, ooh

Many songs from this album sound like I already heard them on the previous 'By the Way' album. Melodies/harmonies are nowhere near to the greatness of the brilliant 'Give up the Ghost' album or almost any other early album. Not a bad album, but she changed her style and it's not Brandi I used to love. It's watered down music of what she used to be. Her songs are starting to sound more and more like narration and not actual songs. I'm slowly losing interest. Album rating: 6/10
@JessicaMcCoy13 жыл бұрын
I really like this album, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat since it came out. It’s a bit shiny and is very focused, and seems a little less raw and organic than earlier albums. I’m not bored with it at all, but I’m really looking to how the songs develop live. These tracks are all very short and you don’t have a lot of time to get into it before you’re on to the next.
@007koko0073 жыл бұрын
@@JessicaMcCoy1 I should give it more listen probably, but I can already hear that songs are not on the level of earlier albums, at least the majority of the songs.

this is almost as good as GUTG. Definitely one of the best. In top 3 surely.
@007koko0073 жыл бұрын
@@upliftmofoify Unfortunately, I can't agree. Musically, this new album is pretty generic while GUTG has really strong and memorable songs. I can't find anything on this album that sounds great like 'Looking Out', 'That Year', 'Dying Day', 'Oh Dear' etc.
@aubynfresh94343 жыл бұрын
@@007koko007 I 100% agree with you. GUTG was my favourite album too. I have to admit I hated the last album and couldn't understand the hype. I know artists have to evolve and try new things, and I do prefer this album to the last - there are tracks on this one that I actively like! But yes, the songs you mentioned are top tier for me too.
