My partner, the love of my life, died on November 17, 2021. We had lived and loved together for 31+ years. A few months later, I took a long road trip to visit her sisters. This song popped up on KZbin while we were talking about Brenda, my dearest love. It felt like Brenda's spirit was telling me that she was telling me "I might not be around tomorrow, but I'll always be with you." She loved Brandi too. Now, Brandi Carlile's songs mean more to me than ever before.

When I first heard this song I was overwhelmed with emotion. My mom passed away suddenly due to septic shock. Seeing her the last time, I knew that even though her body was shutting down she still knew that I was there with her. She saw me and a single tear fell from her eye. This song feels like a gift sent straight from my mom which is something that I really needed right now. This band never disappoints. Their songs are beautiful, honest and are felt deeply by so many people. Thank you for this song and the many years of music that helps those of us in need. ♥️🌟💫✨

My mom passed away suddenly years ago. I felt stripped of everything dear to me. Yet, I had to be strong because even though I was the baby of the family, I am the one that everyone turns to. It took a while before I could see that she was still with me, and will always be. I discovered that you can't run out of a mother's love. And with God on my side, things are good. I pray the peace that surpasses all understanding fills you and you discover mom is still with you and always will be! God bless you always!!

As my mum was living her last hours, I was stranded in a hospital on the opposite coast from where she was. I did not know she was ready to pass. I knew she had been living with cancer for years, but I was never told just how ill she had become. We had sadly been estranged for years... At 4:00 in the morning, EST, something told me to reach out to her right at that moment. She and my dad lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, hence in 2003, cell reception was iffy. I had an urgent need to hear her voice. When my aunt put the phone to her ear, I told her it was her baby girl calling to check on her. She was barely alive at this point. I just asked what, if anything, I could offer her. She whispered to me asking to recite her favorite biblical passage: The Lord's Prayer. As we shared these last minutes of her life together, she told me how bright the light was becoming and she felt so free...... I told her to follow the light..... I told her it was ok to Let Go... Within seconds, mere seconds, she passed gently and quietly away. Even with the distance that separated our world's, almost 20 years later, her love still fills my 💜 with joy knowing that her baby girl could be with her the same way she was with me when it was my first minutes of my life. Thank you Brandi! This one's for her. I love you mummy.

When the fire inside that burns so bright begins to grow faded It can be hard to see the ground on which you stand Though you may not be afraid of walking in the darkness You will feel like a stranger in this land You can try to carve a faith out of your own But a broken spirit may dry out the bone And the edges of the night may cause you sorrow You know I may not be around this time tomorrow But I'll always be with you I'll always be with you When the hope that you hold tightly to has all but vanished And there are no words of comfort to be found You will know what it means to be lost and without love May you fight to kill that deafening sound But our holy dreams of yesterday aren't gone They still haunt us like the ghosts of Babylon And the breaking of the day might bring you sorrow You know I may not be around this time tomorrow But I'll always be with you I'll always be with you You can try to carve a faith out of your own But a broken spirit may dry out the bone And the edges of the night may cause you sorrow You know I may not be around this time tomorrow But our holy dreams of yesterday aren't gone They still haunt us like the ghosts of Babylon And the breaking of the day might bring you sorrow You know I may not be around this time tomorrow But I'll always be with you Yeah, I'll always be with you I'll always be with you I'll always be with you
