Is there a better friend in the world than Brandi Carlile? This performance was 100% to help heal Wynonna's heart. This is beautiful and it will never not me. For context, after Naomi Judd died from depression in 2022, Brandi joined Wynonna on stage at her public memorial service and sang Naomi's part in a very powerful and moving rendition of their famous duet "The Rose". This performance is about a year later.

When the accompaniment first starts, you can see Wynonna looks a bit annoyed with Brandi for choosing this song, but then decides to give in to the catharsis about singing about her mom. She spends most of the song in her own feelings. At 2:58, Brandi makes hard eye contact with her at "I know I made you cry" and you can see Wynonna's eyes go wide as she sees the song from her mom's eyes for the first time.
