I just bought an Indiana Jones 9ft whip, and I've been searching for a good tutorial that actually teach me the ways to crack a bull whip, and this is the best one. Thanks man!

Since getting my new whip I've been looking for a tutorial that'll actually teach me what I need to know to avoid injury. I just had a thought - if neighbours get spooked by my showing up at a park/field to practice with my whip in the open spaces am I going to get in trouble? I can just imagine the overprotective parent saying I'm being a bad influence and calling the cops.

I’m 100% new to cracking, and got myself a 3ft and a 6ft from etsy... im surprised to note that right after the handle, the next foot of whip seems to have a stiff/natural bend, thats always there... does a new whip need ‘breaking in’? Or just warm up to make it more flexing? If that curve is permanent... do you ‘throw’ with the curve leading, or trailing, or... something else?

A well-made whip will have what is called a "natural curve", and the most fluid cracks will come from throwing with the natural curve as the leading edge of the thong.

she's really muscling that whip! the harder you throw, the louder the crack. I go for the opposite effect - I try to make quieter cracks, it requires more finesse and a fairly intimate understanding of what a whip needs to crack.
