Another great review. Finding Nemo is amazing and just speaks to the quality of Pixar when it's not even in my top 5. It's also the first movie i've ever watched in theatres, so it holds a special place in my heart. My top 3 Pixar is The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. and Toy Story 3

I loved this film a lot and it gets so better as I get older. It's really the emotional weight that holds this film together as well as the humor, characters, writing and great voice acting (Brooks, DeGeneres, & Dafoe are so great in the film). Actually my favorite film is Toy Story 3

finding nemo was the best cinematic experience iv ever had when i was 7 years old ..i remember i screamed when i bought it on vhs and literally watched it all day every day..just like you when i grew up i liked some pixar movies more like the first toy story the incredibles ratatoullie and cars ..i watched it yesterday after so long and boy i felt just like the first time..its truly amazing ..i think finding dory hurt the originals legacy a little..

This is one of Thomas Newman’s best scores. He was on fire during this period. He did Road to Perdition and White Oleander the year before and A Series of Unfortunate Events, Cinderella Man, and Jarhead the following two years. Ever since 1994 with Shawshank, Newman has put out iconic hit after hit with his scores.

Marlin had been living for six years with the depression he had after losing his wife Coral and all his unborn kids to the barracuda and fear of losing Nemo like he lost them (He couldn’t live with himself if it happened) and it took the bravery, independence and smarts and fun-loving personality of his son Nemo and platonic forgettable but also well-meaning and supportive partner Dory to snap him out of it.

Hello =) I agree, this picture is equally exciting and even more witty and distinctly relatable (or heart-reaching/rending) as an adult. Originally, I was shown Finding Nemo as a four-year-old with my mom and grandparents in their house (as soon as it had been released on VHS), as well as with a few other visiting relatives. I remember being terrified by a few parts (particularly the barracuda appearing towards the end of the first scene and eating all of Marlin's family except for Nemo, and setting the often treacherous and sad tone for the rest of the movie), yet enchanted by the story and imagery too. Since then, I have come to understand and appreciate the emotional journey, the characters, the clever humor and the animated details of the setting more deeply. My parents have also been equally fond of and impressed by it. I have always enjoyed and remembered Thomas Newman's musical score growing up. I believe my favorite movie from Pixar would be WALL-E (with Nemo, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc, Toy Story 3 and maybe Toy Story 2 all as close seconds).

I'm sorry to say this, but I hate Finding Nemo and I find it to be overrated. I hated it as a kid and I still hate it now. It just keeps getting worse and worse as I get older. Nemo is a unlikeable spoiled brat, Marlin is an idiot and Dory is annoying and obnoxious (Which breaks my heart because I am a fan of Ellen DeGeneres as a comedian. But it's not her fault. She was just doing what was asked of her). The animation looked great for the time, but it looks dated to me. I watched this movie on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray. The DVD and Blu-Ray both look exactly like the VHS tape, which is an indication that the movie has not aged well. I also don't find the movie to be that dark or scary/intense about it. Even when I was a kid it never scared me what so ever. I also find it to be too childish and emotionally manipulative. I also found the humor to be obnoxious and cringeworthy. The seagulls were incredibly annoying and obnoxious. But that's just me. I also find Coral's death to be rushed and not very effective. The reason why Mufassa's death in the Lion King is so effective is because we got to know him and his death wasn't rushed. We hardly know Coral so when she dies it's not every effective. Yeah the kids get eaten, but it's censored so it takes away the intensity of it. I know it's Disney, but Scar murdering Mufassa in the Lion King, and Sid murdering Combat Cark in Toy Story 1 are more intense deaths because while they didn't fully show it but they weren't completely censored either. I wish they had also done that with Coral's death and his kids. It would've made the scene more heartbreaking and intense. Having those deaths be censored takes away the intensity and the darkness of it. I'm glad you liked it though. But it's just not for me.

You state that you saw it on VHS, DVD AND Blu-Ray... AND you are watching reviews about it on the Internet... Is there a part of you that really wants to like it? Just wanting to know your thoughts :)

@@BrandoCritic That's because my mom, grandma, and sister love the movie so the DVD, Blu-Ray and VHS belong to them technically. Most of the older Disney movies we have particularly from the 1990s and early 2000s we still have on VHS and own on DVD and Blu-Ray. The reason I tried rewatching it as I got older, because I wanted to see if my opinions have changed as I've gotten older. Movies like Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Secret of Nimh and Atlantis: The Lost Empire were movies I didn't like as a kid but I love as an adult and I was hoping the same would happen with Finding Nemo, but sadly it didn't. On the flipside: James And The Giant Peach, Jingle All The Way, Inspector Gadget with Mathew Broderick, Max Keeble's Big Move, Big Fat Liar, Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion, Kangaroo Jack and Osmosis Jones were movies I liked as a kid but as an adult I don't like them and they don't hold up for me anymore.
