Bravo to Brandon! I had a daughter with trisomy 18 who unfortunately only lived a few hours. I heard that horrible phrase incompatible to life too many times. Thank you for giving a positive voice to trisomy 18.

I also had a daughter with Trisomy 18. It was at a government hospital , so I didn't have an assigned doctor....we found out about it when a nurse casually mentioned a limited life span. This was 40 years ago so there wasn't info available like now.

All life is worthy. I’m a retired elementary teacher, and the kids with special needs bring very special blessings. I don’t believe for a second that God causes this, but He allows it. Those of us who see this gain the blessings of this. You are here to prove that God always has a plan. You have so much incredible insight that is so invaluable! Thank you for sharing!!!

What a wonderful advocate for people with trisomy 13 or 18. You can't know how much a child may accomplish when given appropriate medical care. Medical students and parents absolutely deserve to see the possibilities of life with such a condition, both worst case and best case.

I had no idea that you can live a normal live with trisomie 18, I thought it always means brain damage and low life span. What a shame that mothers are always offered to end the life of their kids who could be like Brandon.

Well, the mosaic form of it is dramatically lighter than the full expression. My opinion is, if the child can breathe and eat on their own, do all you can. If they can't even breathe or eat, there's too much damage involved and they'll have no real quality of life.

It is an absolute disgrace that all these babies are being aborted! Everyone's life is worth living! What a self centred society we have created!
@kathybrem8809 күн бұрын
These defects are mostly incompatible with life. I’d abort very early as I love my children far too much to put them thru this.

Or do you love yourself too much to put yourself through this?
