This interview is GOLD. Brandon Boyd never ceases to awe & amaze me. I can sit & listen to him for HOURS. He's such an idyllic human that I relate to on so many levels, especially soulfully. It's one thing to have a person's talent & art move you, but it's something else entirely to have their very existence validate your life trajectory. Although I've never personally met or shared an intimate physical space with him (besides the Incubus concerts I've been to), I feel incredibly connected to his energy & presence. It's indescribable. His level of social awareness, emotional intelligence & overall approach to "being" is something that I not only actively experience myself, but continually aspire to maintain & strengthen in my own spiritual practices. It just goes to show how intricately tied together we all are & the sooner we realize this, the better off we'll be. thank you, universe, for always having my back. this video enriched my soul when I needed it the most 🖤

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for your sins and rose from the dead. If you repent from evil ways, believe that Jesus has paid the fine for your sins on the cross and confess Him as your Lord, you will be saved. You see, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that's why Jesus Christ, fullness of Godhead bodily, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the prophecies and law, shed His Blood at the cross just so you could be forgiven, reconciled back to the Father, receive God's love, be made a new creation, whole, sanctified. It's not about religion and what good works you can do to earn salvation, it's only by grace through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Read God's Word, preferably start with Gospel of John, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, give you wisdom and revelation that way you're born again and see your life changed by the Spirit of the Most High. That is absolutely amazing. There was only one point in this interview i had incubus playing in my head and it was this EXACT line. I wonder if that is a shared experience with a lot of folks watching this. Probably helps it’s one of my all time favorite lyrics, not to mention the current news… but it’s still feels special to scroll down and see the one single solitary exact lyric I thought of while watching. @@matthewbailey8588 Don't be a dumbass. Maybe you don't understand it from the perspective we do- and that's ok! "How it sounds" is not what we're referring to. It's hearing the message of the lyrics from a new point of view; from a place in our lives which simply didn't exist 20 years ago. At a time when I've truly had enough of the world and it's people's mindless games. Sometimes bursting (politely) into flames seems like a sweet release from the emotional toll of existence. But also, at that moment in the show, I felt as light as a feather, like I was at the exact right olace and time - in the night air, under the stars, with someone I love, getting exactly what I needed from the performance, just as intended by the artist.

When brandon was talking about having the drink poured into a cup and it was overflowing, it reminded me of what I read in this book the path to longevity - During the Japanese meiji era ( 1868 - 1912) there was a famous Zen master, called Nan-in. One day he received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen philosophy. Nan-in started pouring tea into the professor's cup until full, and then kept on pouring. The professor watched the tea overflowing out of the cup until full, and then kept on pouring. The professor watched the tea overflowing out of the cup for moment, until he no longer could restrain himself. It is overfill. No more will go in! He exclaimed. Gently, Nan-in replied 'Like this cup, you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you what is Zen, unless you first empty your cup?'😊

completely random, but when I was 14 or 15, I was sent to rehab by the juvenile court system and I was in there with another girl who was 20 (yes you can still be on juvenile probation and sent to juvenile facilities when you're 20) - her name was Ashley - and she was in there for attempting to order LSD on the dark web and apparently failing and getting caught by her probation officer (yes, the juvenile court just sends people to rehab for trying to buy acid lol, especially with girls because there aren't as many facilities for us to serve actual time or get "therapy"). Anyway, her favorite band in the world was Incubus, and she flipped out at this other girl and eventually started CRYING because someone said "Oh! I love Incubus" but ended up only knowing the song Drive. She went on a long, emotional rant about how their other music was so much more intriguing and psychedelic. Went home after 60 days and thought I'd try listening to Incubus's less mainstream music and I have been a huge fan of Brandon and Incubus ever since. So, silver linings, thanks Ashley lol.

I was just blessed enough to see Incubus at Aftershock. I went mostly just to see them cause out of the tons of concerts I have been to, i had never had the absolute pleasure of seeing Incubus perform live. I had not listened to them in years but listened to them on repeat back in the early 2000s. Seeing Brandon on stage and picking up on his energy (and how damn well he has aged and performs) led me into looking up about him and to this vid. I love his energy! What a lovely human! Thank you for being, Brandon, and for what you do...and thank you for staying away from those hardcore nasty drugs! Btw, I too had an amazing psychadelic experience my first time with cannabis. I was heavy into it in my 20s...but then I went into nursing and can no longer enjoy. ETOH became my crutch and I just want to be SOBER and more healthy at this point in my life and am on that journey. I have never tried the psychadelics and can neither condone nor speak against them. Instead, I don't need drugs...I can get high off his energy and the music. I love Brandon and Incubus on a deep spiritual level. I too love all sorts of music and have listened to/been into most of the bands and artists they both mentioned. I believe that people who are open to all types of music are more open in general and are on another level. I have grown into and out of all sorts of bands and artists but Incubus and Brandon will forever be a fave i love his wisdom and his words about God ❤

He's speaking of the witness -popular in native archetypes. There's that popular saying of humans being the universe experiencing itself. Perhaps, in certain mental states (not necessarily facilitated by substance use, btw) we can tap into that which is everything and nothing. It's just a level of awareness of the oneness or the singularity or the lack of separation - whatever you want to call it. But it's probably one of the fundamental truths (in my humble opinion) that every religion teaches but often goes unacknowledged. I suspect our existence is super intended in the fabric of the universe and the macro and the micro are two sides of one coin. I've loved the band since I was a young girl and I genuinely think it's that sort of esoteric understanding projected into the music that makes it resonate with those of us who are .. a little more sensitive to the energy of the universe.. whatever that means. It's so fun to go back and listen to those songs I used to listen to constantly because I loved them in youth and didn't understand why but now, it actually makes sense.

First time I heard the song 'Trust Fall' was right around my first encounters with Grandmother Aya. Like a few other artists I love, it was blowing me away that they seemed to be having similar experiences and philosophical evolutions, or just in the same spaces as I. I've loved Incubus since seeing them for the Morning View Tour when I was in Grade 10, they've been one of the biggest influences on my music tastes, musical expressions and outlooks in life. So much gratitude and love for the band! :)

Baby, trust me, you made it, you are it. I do think childhood was a trippy time, we are closer to “source” at that point in our life journey. Hard drugs do have an icky vibe, I always noticed that too.

The Make Yourself album was at a very transformational time in my life. Saw them at the Warfield two nights in a row at that time. It was memorable to say the least. Was less than ten feet from Mr. Floating Torso. It was effing epic!

Much love and God bless you!

The level of consciousness when experiencing the effects of shrooms, weed and music, combined with visual hallucinations is quite an amazing four or five hour event that everyone should witness. Pink Floyd dark side of the moon and the Mandelbrot set. Unreal.
