I know a million dudes from the throughout the American Southwest that sound just like him. He has an accent I like to call, "White Gridiron Football Jock". It's similar to the accent of Canadian Hockey Players (Eg Letterkenny's Reilly and Jonesy) but slightly more Texan and less sports based slang. To be clear, it's a very American Middle Class and Suburban accent but it's well understood by everyone else here since we all know that type of person (which is why the high school bully jock you see in movies is so cringey because the accent is not quite right).
@MrVisde2 жыл бұрын
@@luke_cohen1 I think it’s more of a working class southwestern accent. One of the lesser known accents like Pennsylvanian.

@@MrVisde Jocks in this part of the country are usually working class kids due to all the diversity. These aren't your upper crust players from Rutgers. Rather, these are the hard working scrappers you see on shows like Hard Knocks.

@benhopp4796 жыл бұрын
Almost correct. It was Dave (the guitarist) who had the cassette of the chords. Ronnie (the drummer, wouldn't join the band for another year after Brandon and Dave met). And it was Brandon's 1992 Geo Metro that he first played it not a Subaru.

Ahhh I love that they sang a Travis song at their first gig… Then when I saw Brandon on his first solo tour, he was touring with the Lead singer of Travis, Fran Healy. He is also a humble and lovely man, like Brandon (but with a Scottish accent and he’s hilarious). Such a fantastic double bill that I was incredibly lucky to see. Especially since I saw them in Denver… I’m from New Zealand and I started driving at 4am that morning from Moab and my car broke down in Gypsum, so had to be towed more than 100 miles over the snowy mountains to Denver. Nothing was going to stop me seeing that concert 😂 Btw the song by Travis, ‘side’ is brilliant song. I recommend checking it out if you haven’t. The circle only has one side… I feel that touring with Fran must have been a ‘full circle’ moment for Brandon. I hope that he finds Trevor and has another full circle moment.
