I saw the Crow for the first time in theaters today for the 30th release. Two things: watching Brandon act was like watching Bob Ross paint, an absolute masterpiece in art. I would not say murdered in the sense that anyone INTENDED to kill him. HOWEVER, there were A LOT of corners being cut and negligence happening on that set. Ie: making home made dummy rounds from live ammo, having live ammo on set period, using a gun that had not been cleared or checked, working after the prop master (whose job it was to check and clear the guns) had left for the day, pointing a non cleared gun at someone. If just one of these negligent acts had been interrupted, and/or people would followed protocol, we would probably still have him today.

People often do not realize that Brandon would get annoyed when interviewers would constantly bring up his father, his father's death, his father's legendary status etc.. (not saying that happened here) . Although Brandon was a skilled Martial Artist in his own right, it is not what he wanted to be known for. He was so very passionate about acting. He used Martial Arts to break into the acting scene, but it's definitely not what he wanted to constantly do, act in those types of movies. The Crow was going to be his big break, and that it was, he just didn't get to see it all unfold. His dad would have been so proud of him, but so heartbroken over his loss. ❤

Luckily most of the kids didn't know that Bruce Lee was his dad while growing up so he avoided most of that. He did while he was younger but he moved around a lot so most people don't know and luckily he wasn't a tiny guy but a strapping 6'1" tall so he didn't get too much shit. If he was 5'7" like his father then he would have gotten more shit. Many probably assume he is Hawaiian and not even half Chinese American.

That is fantastic, perhaps one of the best lessons to learn is that in Mandarin, both the written and spoken form are identical however, in Cantonese, the written form is formal, and the spoken form is completely different. The spoken form contains many idioms, phrases, and characters that simply do not exist in Mandarin. Even if there is a so-called Mandarin equivalent, no Mandarin speaker would say most of what is normal in Cantonese. That was a big revelation in my early studies.
