It is real. If you know the martial arts and i do not say just kung fu. I say a lot of different martial arts, you realize that it is a waste of time to try to integrate the movement and the concepts behind. Instaed do not think, feel. Just do not kick explore yourself feel the kick. Do not learn the kick, just let it go as he feel. First a kick is studieied after that a kick is just a kick. You feel the kick and after that a kick is just a kick. You feel it. It's difficult, it takes time cause it s like a finger pointed to the moon. And If you with thought concentrate only on the finger, you will loose all the feel, the sensation of the heavenly glory. It takes time to me to understand it and i didnt even do martial arts

@A L The script for this series was written by the very best scriptwriter at this time in Hollywood, Stirling Silliphant who also was a pupil and friend of Bruce. These lines about becoming like water that Bruce also repeated during the very famous interview were from this series, also written by Silliphant. The funny thing is that in real life and with friends Bruce talked like this "I should find out within a week whether this thing is on. If so, I will hustle back to Hollywood. [...] It's a really freaky adventure series about a Chinese guy who winds up in the American West in 1860. Can you dig that? All these cowboys on horses with guns and me with a long, green hunk of bamboo, right? Far out.". (Source: Bruce Lee: A Life, by Matthew Polly)

As any good martial arts instructor should. Bruce definitely has the spirit. Too many trainers are just like going through the motions and plays game of Simon Says without conveying the true meaning and the mind-body-spirit connection or the connection with all that surrounds one, the signal to noise ratio reduction for a positive situational awareness. Like, the importance of being able to listen to that bird. The true connection of mindfulness with cosmic consciousness and know where one is in the universe in relationship with others. How the other person's emotions telegraphed that person's punch! Etc. And, of course, Bruce's Classic Speech on Being like Water is priceless and timeless!

What a beautiful man. I watch Bruce so much, and yet had completely forgotten that he talks about "The Art of Dying" after the famous water quote. I cried, honestly. Through all the bullshit in this world, Bruce obsessively wanted to spread seeds of honest, and REALISTIC truth to whoever would listen to him, to enrich the minds--and hopefully, ultimately--the lives of human beings living in an unjust world, even if just to teach you how to accept defeat and your own human limits with grace and understanding... Everything he said was a complete, thought-out story with two opposing sides to consider, in order to challenge our--and his--beliefs and dogmas. The interviewer from the famous interview he was in called it "yin and yang", but it's really just true honesty. It's true knowledge. It's thinking beyond yourself toward the greater picture, no matter the circumstance, for the sake of ourselves AND the world we live in. Even if it weren't Bruce saying these words, they're words EVERYONE can learn something to consider for their own personal lives. *You must free your ambitious mind and learn the art of dying. This is a great show to showcase Bruce Lee’s talents. It wasn’t derogatory in any way. I’m sure a relief for Bruce who faced a lot of discrimination. Thanks to Bruce, Asians have been mostly accepted in Hollywood

I think Jon Jones's key to success is that he or greg jackson watched this bruce lee clip before anyone else in the ufc. Combine this one move with Jones's long ass legs and no wonder he does this in almost every fight. Side kicking to the knee cap, it's pretty damn dangerous though...

TBH, the acting of Enter The Dragon was not that great. Lee seems to be doing his version of Clint Eastwood in the Sergio Leone trilogy, while John Saxon and Jim Kelly just do their schtick (with the bad guy saddled with bad dubbing) - Here you can tell he was explaining something he truly believed in.

Many people never see Bruce is teaching them how to live spiritually. The be thoughtless and in the moment. ''Empty your mind, be thoughtless, formless , shapeless.....like water''. Live so you dont have to fight, to find who you really are stop stopping all meaning you think your projecting to all who your really are to emerge as a way of life. He is teaching you the way to live not just martial arts, how to know yourself and god/the universe. To become one and econnected with it again.

You gotta love how Lee always had a chair about a foot behind the person he was kicking to ensure they stumbled and actually fell over ... nice little parlour trick there - same as Enter the Dragon.

9:09 - 9:31 "Like everyone else, you want to learn the way to win, but never to accept the way to lose. To accept defeat, to learn to die is to be liberated from it. So when tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind, and learn the art of dying". This is honestly one of the most important lessons you can learn in life, and the older I get the more I see the value in not being afraid of failure, but instead welcoming it as a necessary part of living. It's shocking how wise Bruce Lee was, in addition to being so talented and successful in so many other things. You want to learn a new technical skill? Be prepared to repeat it and fail at it a thousand times before you get better at it and learn it. You want to have better people skills? Be prepared to talk to hundreds of people and have them get bored of you or dislike you before you get good enough at conversing to keep the people you want in your life or to gain the interest of new people effectively. As another great man, Paul Newman once said, "A man with no enemies is a man with no character". You want to find a partner or get better at attracting people? Be prepared to have dozens of relationships start and fail, in all sorts of different ways, or to get rejected time and time again as you try to attract someone before you understand how to be charming, valuable, and attractive. It doesn't matter what it is, being prepared to fail, fearlessly and willingly, is the only way to become someone significant or to achieve anything of any importance in this life. You can study any topic for a long time, learn all about it, find every piece of information there is on it and think you are an expert. But until you try it yourself, live it, fail at it, know everything that could happen through experience and the pain that comes with trying it, you will never truly learn or do anything that matters. Also, being focused on achieving it or on getting a specific outcome is not only impossible, but foolish, and it will blind you and not allow you to grow or learn from your experiences, because the frustration of not getting your desired outcome will cloud your thoughts and make your heart heavy with dissatisfaction. But those who learn from their experiences, those who find the strength to try again, to keep going, to not give up and take another chance, those are the people who achieve things. That's how winners are born. That's how warriors are made. Pain and failure are the greatest teachers, and only the brave are their students. So when tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind, and learn the are of dying.
