+David Tong I was going to say the same thing. He's competed so many times that he's used just about everything 3-4 times.

I practised this move on an old lady in wallmart, who at the time, was bending down to pick up a coin. She didn't do the submission slap; which was a bit disappointing.

In Judo we tend to call this a British choke, we also do arm lock from same position instead of grabbing collar scoop the arm, nice videos keep em coming

Good technique. In that case you could start refering to about 80% of your jiu jitsu chokes as the "judo choke" since thats were a lot originated :)

Watched this and pulled it off on my husband just a couple hours later w/out practicing. Very easy to understand instructions. I actually lost my leg hook on him while reclining and still almost choked him out before he tapped

Watched this video before class, and put a brown belt to sleep with this exact entry. Great instruction!

Judo Choke?, that's one of the most ancient techniques from the Japanese Jiujitsu canon, it was known as "Samurai Choke" since was often used during Sengoku Period by Samurais.

If it's non BJJ situation, it's MMA can i do an Armbar from that position will it be affective?
@wildcat3177210 жыл бұрын
Renzo has a video of an armbar that uses a similar priciple. The only diff is that when they turtle you are at their head. It's on youtube.

Some people (like me) use turtling when we're in danger. I'm not sure it's smart, but we do it anyways.. If you're fighting someone like me, first make sure you get on top: From the bottom, I will try to sweep or escape. If the sweep or escape fails, and you have a chance to improve your position or pass, I turtle up. So try getting on top, put pressure until they turtle.

Stephan I really enjoy your videos and find most to add a lot if value to my training. What is not needed is you spending time insulting other martial arts. It just devalues you as a teacher.
