Not the lying as much as the blatant arrogance where he tells a lie that he knows can be fact checked but it does not matter to him, for one reason or another. It could be that he is aware and just doesn't mind lying in the moment for the immediate gain, feeling that he is above the negative impacts that might be coming down the road. It could also be that he has an issue with his own self image, not being able to handle that he didn't excel, and he lies (to everyone including himself) to cope. I am sure there are other options, but those two seem plausible to me and both are scary... the self-lying one especially because it would mean that he is flipping a switch in his brain to create a fantasy for himself whenever things don't go well so that he never has to face the issues or try to correct them. Biden's reality may not be the rest of our reality, yet he is in charge of our reality.
