You got the fact of the helicopter crash wrong. Because it wasn't scripted they had to pay nothing for it, insurance took care of it since it was unintentional and unscripted so they got to use it for free, and just wrote a line of dialogue explaining that a tomato went after the pilot

It's surprising how this movie made a franchise, from multiple sequels & a cartoon series to even a spin off movie with killer tire!

Legend has it the filmmakers originally had plans for a "Tomato cinematic universe"

@@TheBrandonTenold I don't believe it, but also wouldn't be surprised

@@TheBrandonTenold speaking of tomatoes, if the adult industry ever took their shot, they could call it the Fruit Cinematic Universe, or FCU.

And don't forget that Return Of The Killer Tomatoes starred George Clooney.

Anybody else remember the CARTOON series based on this film? I loved watching it as part of my Saturday cartoon line-up when cartoons were funny, didn't take themselves seriously and were a hoot to watch!

That older couple that is just casually watching their grandkid get eaten are a highlight. Later they say "would you like to buy a crib?" 🤣

The chopper crash was already funny but finding out that it was an accident and that it cost more than half the movie's budget had me cracking up. It looks like the kind of thing that would have been written for this movie.

I remember when I first saw this. I was spending a long weekend at my grandparents house and we all took a late night walk to a blockbuster and I picked this out just because it was a funny title. Good times.

I can’t believe “Night of the Lepus” wasn’t a parody like this.
