As I get older I find myself more drawn to the content that is the real James, either on his own or with his friends, just talking about movies, games etc. I still love AVGN but the videos with him not playing a character stick with me more nowadays.

We love ❤️ Monster Madness James!! It's something that reignited that Halloween feeling and the anticipation waiting for an episode to come out during October. I want to say thank you. Not just for AVGN, or Board James... But the massacre in Cinemassacre! All the Horror films and shows you have covered. So many it's absolutely ridiculous! A selfish part of me never wants it to end, but i know it's a lot of tiring work. Thanks James! ❤️

About 15 years ago in Austin The Alamo hosted a live screening of Jaws on town lake(every town in Texas has a town lake). You'll notice I said "on" and that's because they had a drive-in like screen facing the lake and the audience were on innertubes floating. The real twist was they had people in scuba gear that would go around and tug peoples legs. So when James said that experience was no more(during The Tingler) I say not entirely.

Nice vid, and fun factoid. The Spanish version of Dracula that came out the same year, 1931, was shot on the same sets at night after the Universal actors went home. The Spanish version is moves faster, with a much sexier Mina Harker--I think the lead actress was eighteen at the time--although NO one could top Lugosi. Both were excellent films in their own right, but the Spanish version is better directed, IMO. Worth a watch, if you can find it.

I just got to the Dead Alive/Brain Dead part. I wonder how it compares with Mutant Girls Squad/Sentō Shōjo: Chi no Tekkamen Densetsu (Fighting Girls: Legend of the Blood of the Iron Mask). That's a slasher comedy where how bloody it is is the joke. They literally have a scene where someone's hands are cut off, she's still fighting and they pump hundreds of gallons of blood out of the stumps as a joke. I would give other examples but I don't want to spoil the jokes. James Rolfe has to take a look at these, it's not the only one of these Japanese horror comedies.

31:28 This myth has spread like crazy but it is NOT true. The idea of a yearly anthology-type series was abandoned before HALLOWEEN III even opened. Michael Myers returning (which was *five* years later btw) had nothing to do with part 3 or fan reaction to it. It happened because Freddy Krueger was white hot, Jason Voorhees was getting boosted just by association (to this _day_ the two are mentioned in tandom), and Moustapha Akkad had his own teen-terminator who could get in on that. Before that, the franchise was considered finished.
