I wish there could be a way to support Black-owned farms or even product brands and restaurants which use Black farmer's foods. We focus way too much on fashion and other items that come off an assembly line in a factory. There are things that go into our bodies that deserve attention, probably more than what goes onto our bodies.

Secondly why do we as black people, based on the info that is being given on video, care? STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES. A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON DEPARTED. MAKE THE MONEY DON'T LET THE MONEY MAKE YOU. Do all these sayings sound familiar? This isn't a BLACK thing this is A RESPECT YOURSELF THING!

When whites started letting blacks shop at their stores, that was the beginning of the end for black businesses and the community as a whole. The black dollar circulated 19-20 times at least, before leaving the community. Not anymore. We can't control anything until we start controlling our spending. Supporting black businesses is the road to real, lasting prosperity and progress.

News Flash: Whatever Black folks buy always passes through "their" hands at some point, from the threads, the buttons, the transaction paper, the shopping bag, the e-platform, etc. You get my drift? There's no getting around it. I just do mindful shopping across all communities where I tend to receive great customer service, great products, and great advertisement. This world is stressful enough without having to nit-pick where I shop. I'm with Pierre's thought on this issue. However, at the end of the day, follow your own convictions...

It's sad that you even after being disrespected wants to still give them a $29k bag. We're so lost when it comes to commerce that it's sickening. We will complain, cry and throw a tantrum because luxury brands won't give us service versus lift us a black luxury brand. It's one of the reason why we continue to lose.

Pierre missed me with his whole argument. The Civil Rights Movement would not have been effective with his mentality. Enriching people outside of the black community does absolutely zero for the community, the black dollar circulates 1x in the black community meaning that we're supporting everyone else's prosperity but our own. He literally said that he refused to buy an American vehicle, that thinking is why the American manufacturing plants are defunct. His opinion is his opinion, but at least support it with some kind of logic. It's people with his mentality that are off code and keep us from becoming the juggernauts we once were and can be again.

Wesley, You are absolutely correct! Unfortunately, too many ADOS/AA's lack knowledge of Black economics and how and why we are failing in this area. Instead of wasting his coins at a store that creates Blackface garments, Jim Jones needs to tune in to Tone Talks and add his voice to the call for Repair of those impacted by racism from slavery to the present. $29k could do much to educate those who desperately need hope. Reparations, 40 acres, and a mule (21st century rates) would take our homeless (50% estimated homeless are ADOS) off the streets, provide housing, education, and stability to a people to whom it is OWED! JIM JONES CHEW ON THIS!

I’m absolutely NOT surprised Pierre feels bullied into buying black designers; which Brandon was not doing at all. Melananted people like Jim and Pierre feel white designers cotton is softer, white people water is more wet and their ice is colder than normal ice. If he sees no problem with the way they treat their melananted customers then he’s a lost cause. He doesn’t care about our people, if can’t see how not shopping at Gucci and any other brands who treat us like trash will hurt their business, he’s more blind than I thought. He has all black employees, but don’t give a fu** about any of them, that’s mighty white of you Pierre.

Jackson is right. Dead on. And for the record, nobody is “telling” Jones how to spend his own money. But it is foolish to drop a bag where you’re disrespected. And also for the record, that amount of cash could send one kid to college for one year. That’s about it. But it is still more worthwhile than blowing it on Gucci racist foolishness. It would be better and faster served on some equipment for an aspiring entrepreneur, a training course in a trade, or some appreciating real estate from a motivated seller, all of which can pay you back many times over.
