Coventry City are delighted to announce the signing of Brandon Thomas-Asante from West Bromwich Albion!
The 25-year-old striker, who can also play on the wing, has signed a four-year deal with the Sky Blues after the agreement of an undisclosed fee with the Baggies.
Thomas-Asante began his career with hometown side Milton Keynes Dons, where he made his professional debut aged in 2016 aged 17. After spells on loan with Sutton United and Oxford City, he left Milton Keynes in 2019 having made 35 appearances.
After a brief spell at Ebsfleet United, Brandon joined Salford City in League Two where he flourished - playing 126 games and scoring 30 goals, and winning the EFL Trophy.
His form at Salford earned a move to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship at the start of the 2022/23 campaign. Playing as a striker, Thomas-Asante was the top goalscorer in both of his two seasons at West Brom - scoring 9 and then 12 goals in the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons respectively. In total he played 78 games for the Hawthorns side.
Brandon has also been capped by Ghana.
Manager Mark Robins said:
“We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Coventry City.
“He is a powerful and pacy striker who has goalscoring pedigree at this level plus a great attitude and work-rate.
“Brandon can play across the front line and will further strengthen our attacking options.
“We look forward to working with him at Coventry City”
