I used the mini 6 as my main computer and the A17 Pro Mini will continue to be my main computer for the foreseeable future. The mini is great for trips, tooling about the city, chilling out at a coffee shop etc. I have been running the 18.1 Beta and found no issues, the mini doesn’t get warm so far as the mini 6 did. All in all the A17 Pro Mini I feel will be just right until the next upgrade, or Apple introduces an iFoldable.

Guys, it is his choice to use the iPad mini as a computer and it’s cheaper than most iPad/laptop, it could still be used as a computer because of the new keyboard it provides, it’s just a little small like if you want to have a portable iPad, this is the choice for you as it is small and provides the same power ( or more ) from the iPhone 15 pro max and plus, why are you guys caring about the LCDs and the OLED, it is a different screen, i know, it is just about the polarizing and the lighting nit, it is just like literally, mostly going to use it inside not outdoors anyway so the mini 7 is actually good as the new AI it provides ( which is the apple intelligence ), so it is good enough to have a iPad mini 7 to be your computer, also having cellular network is actually the best for working like in metros, buses and pretty much everywhere.

I Am thinking the same downgrade from iPad 11 m2 to this one for portability ? Is it worth it ? Or the performance is also an issue
@kianb4990Ай бұрын
@@alatorreluis i have had my ipad pro 11 inch for years, and I seldom used it because it was not comfortable for me to use while sitting, standing, or even while lying down in bed. It is also too big for me bring it out to work since I still have to bring my macbook with me. Sorry but ipadOS can’t completely replace macOS. I am not a creative so I only used it for media consumption, playing some mobile games, and as a digital notebook. And because it is too big and slightly heavy, i almost always used my phone for the first two purposes. I had the chance to borrow an M4 ipad pro last week and even though it is slightly lighter than my previous one, it still does not feel good. Since I got my ipad Mini, I’ve been watching videos, writing notes and playing games even while walking around the house. It doesn’t strain my hands and arms even after long usage. Portability is really the only reason I got the new iPad Mini. I tried playing some games like Genshin, ZZZ, WuWa, and Pubg, and it does not disappoint. It is worth the downgrade for my personal use case.

@@5AMMotorcycles it was awesome i can’t stop using this thing. I’ve been watching videos, playing some games, and writing notes all day. I dont think I have picked up my phone that much for the past two days because I use the Mini for facetime and iMessage too. The battery life is awesome. It can last the whole day of continuous usage unless you are gaming ofcourse, even my previous ipad pro does not last that long while gaming. I travel light too. That’s why the ipad pro was so inconvenient for me. If you really do not need the extra screen real estate and the extra power of M chip, i suggest going for the Mini. Also, if you’re coming from a first gen iPad pro, I don’t think you’re actually downgrading in terms of performance. You’re only downgrading on screen size.

The person who buys the iPad mini is likely to be the one who has an iPhone and a MacBook. They don't need a big tablet because they have a MacBook. The iPad mini, which is only 7% of Apple tablet sales, is not an important lineup for Apple, and there will be no new iPad mini release for at least two years. Because of this, iPad mini can be discontinued at any time. Except for the still 60Hz LCD, +35% CPU & GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, Wifi 6GHz, USB 3.2Gen2 is an overall upgrade. Note: A18pro has better performance than M1, CPU performance is 10% higher than A17pro, and GPU performance is 20% higher. In other words, the performance of the iPad mini 7 is about 90% of the M1. Personal opinion: In a year, the iPad Air will be increased by $200 with OLED, and in 2-3 years, the iPad Mini will be increased by 200 dollars with OLED.

The “jelly scroll” is not due to different refresh rate on the sides of the screen: both are 60 Hz. Is due to the delay between the far points of each ranges with respect to the closest pixels to the controller, when scrolling. Or the opposite, depending on which order (far to close or close to far) of refreshing is using the controller, they are two of them one on the vertical side and the other on the horizontal side. You can see it also in other 60 Hz iPads, depending on how fast is the controller and the screen response. The Apple Watch Ultra shows also same effect

It's good with the minor upgrades, but to have a tablet at this price point and theoretically use it for the next 2 to 3 years and still run on a 60hz display is sort of a dealbreaker for many. That being said, it's still a good-sized tablet.

@@Hhhh22222-w I'm going off topic, but you need some history lessons, buddy!!! You forgot what happened for the past 200 years before that!!! then you'll know once you come across history how the whole Western world that we know today was created in the first place!!! As you were talking about innovation then let me break it down to you as we were quite literally building monuments and megaliths while the entire western world were hunting mamooths and sabertooths and barely made inventions to make fire from scratching rocks !!!! 👊

Thats easy. No other company makes a better mini tablet. Apple doesn't need to do anything because they're the king.

lucky i waited, just abit longer and they released this. bought it just a day after start selling

Hmmm…perhaps the most minor update I’ve ever seen with an Apple Product? More like iPad mini 6.1.
@BrandonButchАй бұрын
Minor? Nearly everything changed internally. AirPods Max = the most minor Apple update ever.
@SaypovАй бұрын
@@BrandonButch, but AirPods maxes were not advertised as a new gen, they were just “refreshed” cuz of the eu laws to replace lightning with usb C. iPad mini, on the other hand, was an upgrade, which even says in its name (a17pro), but it’s so minor, they could’ve at least made the screen pro motion for games

@@Saypov dude fk gaming with apple! it's apple.... if you want a mobile gaming device use a different one.

@@SirMopy , iPad mini is literally the most comfortable thing for gaming
@BrandonButchАй бұрын
@@Saypov This isn't a pro device, it'll likely never get ProMotion. That's what the iPad Pro is in the lineup for. I do think it’ll get OLED next, though

I still have Mini 4. Still works great. Doesnt support many apps but does what I need it to. I might wait for iPad Mini 8. :)

0:59 yeah I wonder why they changed the naming of the mini, TG they have iPads starting triple digit gigs rather than double digit especially the 32 that I got in high school, helps with video taking & storing files from now in2 the future
@PruneProductionsАй бұрын
Is anyone else holding hope they've got a pro mini coming, or something? It's just interesting they went with "iPad Mini A17 Pro", rather than "iPad mini 7th generation". Makes it seem like there could be others sitting alongside it...?!

Uograded w Best Buy's $260 trade in offer on the 6. More ram, new battery, warranty and double the storage for $250.

3:32 that is the spot that any iPad mini that's going to bend will bend there. Also, I find it coincidentally deceptive to change the name from iPad mini (x) to iPad mini (A17PRO). It gives the impression it's a "Pro" version. All the other upgrades (WiFi, BlueTooth, RAM, SSD, USB-C 10Gb/s, etc). No need for 120hz or OLED, that may come out as a real "Pro" version and with increased pricing. The Mini is a good form factor for me, the 11" is too big for everyday use.

I have the Mini 6 and am thinking of upgrading to the Mini 7. Do you know if cases for the 6 will fit on the 7? It looks as though they have the same exact dimensions, but I didn't want to have to buy a new case for the 7 if possible.

Still 500 nits? That’s bad engineering! Bezel around the screen still to big. Apple should go Pro with this mini and launch a SE as well. Aka a slightly higher price for he Pro. And lots less for the mini SE.
@rick_terscale1111Ай бұрын
Yep. Considering the Mini is the one iPad that many of us take with us on the go. And using it outdoor for maps and info, when traveling, means that owners will still struggle with this. 1000 nits would have been acceptable.
@seiji-kun9488Ай бұрын
No new engineering with this iPad.
@alpzeptaАй бұрын
Compares to a Chinese and Samsung small tablet this is a lot better but it is not for IPad Mini 6 or even Mini 5 user and price is little high. Screen Bezel is not big of a deal it is better than having a notch on top of the screen. I don’t think 1000nit is possible with LED screen only Mini-LED. Maybe if Apple lets Sony, Sharp, or Panasonic make LED display it might be able to push 1000 nit. Not putting in A18 Pro is rather a weird choice from Apple which always innovate but A17 Pro is faster than Intel Core i7-8850H which can found in a Mobile Workstation laptop and nearly as fast as Apple M1. Battery could have been bigger though iPad Mini or Air is really an user preference
