It’s sad that once you get a Pro phone; you can’t go back to a regular model. The 120hz refresh rate makes a huge difference. But yet Apple makes slight improvements and those with Pro models feel obligated upgrade

If you’ve ever held both side by side, the differences are not bad at all. The screens are updated in the sense that the 60 hz doesn’t affect the experience. The older iPhones that didn’t have the super Retina display looks really bad Once the iPhones are out on display seen them yourself to see

Apple knows the 120HZ is the only substantial difference between the regular and PRO, so they continue to keep the regular at 60hz.

Apple always just throws us cookie crumbs and leaves something out for next year. Case in point, the iPhone 16 Pro leaving the 5x lens at 12MP. They could have made all 3 lenses 48MP but they will most certainly hold off and give us that next year.

I’ve always got a pro max model, but this will be the first time I go for the 16 plus. Majority of the things on the pro max are on the 16 plus base models. Surprising as usually there is massive differences between the base and the pro max models.

coming from an 11 Pro Max. This video just pushed me in the right directions, I think it'll be a 16-plus. As you said, all the love the base models got, are leaps and bounds ahead of anything before the 15, Cameras are still beefy enough to take way better photos, and ID gather you now only really need the pro versions IF you want a larger phone and a super camera in your pocket, which lets be honest, if you are going to be shooting pro, you likely are using an actual camera not your phone. Touching on the Screen refresh, i see 120 vs 60debate... 60 would give slightly better battery performance, and since from an 11 pro max standpoint i don't have 120HZ... I'm not missing it. Good overview on this. they really did the Plus model well this year. This feels like an s type upgrade.

Apple lowered peak refresh rate to 80 fps in UI (games and videos are exceptions). Everyone with a high-speed camera can prove it. Another example is the keyboard app - it renders only 60 fps. I asked some software engineers, and they confirmed that in regular apps, rendering will be limited by 80-90 fps. Safari can render 120 frames, but in its advanced settings, there’s a 60 Hz switch, which is enabled by default - scrolling in Safari will be 120 fps, but web content updates at 60 fps by default. I have 15 pro and I don’t like it because of the jittery scrolling. I was surprised to find that not everyone can see this jitter.

​​@@TranceFluenceRadio before you make a decision, remember that the iPhone 16 plus is not the best in battery life. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is. Last year, Apple accidentally gave the 15 Plus the biggest battery life. They fixed it this year by cutting down the battery on the plus. Which makes the iPhone 16 plus the most useless in my opinion unless you specifically want a large phone AND can't get the pro max for any reason. Edit: (replying to your other reply) No, that does not mean that. what it means is that the pro models are not always running at 120hz and can save the battery by reducing the refresh rate when you don't need it.

I’m getting 16 plus in pink from the 8 plus. The base models have pretty colour choices and fell in love with pink. I usually listen to music in Spotify, watch videos, calls, messaging and social media, that’s why I’m getting the 16 plus. Still Rocking the 14 because is was the last year the Apple made a RED phone. I don’t really want to upgrade because they don’t make a red iPhone anymore. idk about battery. Apple claims that the 15 pro's 29 hour video playback battery is bigger than the 15 plus's 27 hour battery, but the 15 plus is considerably better, and even the 13 pro max has better battery than 15 PM. Only testing will show if the 16 plus is better or worse than the 16 pro max.

Great video Brandon. Bravo about addressing: “iPhone 16 is not shipping with Apple Intelligence features”. 🙄 I am surprised you were not also wowed with the audio recording and mixing features that Apple showed with 4 studio mics; very impressive. Also, iPhone 16 does not have 120hz Promotion and I think that is a big reason to go for the Pro models. If you find out about how fast we can charge with USB cable now, please let us know. Love the huge MagSafe speed boost but am disappointed with no mention of 40w wired charging.

I was definitely impressed with Audio Mix! Just not as much as Visual Intelligence! And yeah 120hz is the main reason I can NEVER go base model. It's brutal downgrading to 60hz As for charging speeds, seems the same. I will do a test to make sure though!

I have an iPhone 13 Pro and am most excited for the iPhone 16 in Ultramarine. Will the 60 hertz refresh rate really be a deal breaker now that I’ve used the 120 or will I adjust quickly? I know a lot of apps cannot even run above 60 hertz, but will the choppier scrolling and browsing be obnoxiously slow?

I’m going 256 pro upgrading from 15 pro max. I look at it from a different perspective. When you own the phone and can get nearly $800 bucks back for it each year, it only costs me about $400 with taxes to upgrade. It doesn’t need to be $1,100 better but only $400 better. With the edge to edge screen the pro seems killer for a “small” phone. I like the upgrades

I’m not the type who cares about having the most recent model. But I know carriers typically offer an add-on plan where you can upgrade to the most current smartphone models. ATT lets you do it 3 times in a year. I just skip 2 models then upgrade on the 3rd release so I don’t even need that plan. Just thought I’d mention it for those who do like having the latest phones.
