Playing scales the normal way is wrong after a certain point. Yes it's true. Thankfully I'll teach you how to practice them in different ways because I am amazing. You can always count on Brandon for all of your guitar troubles.

This has really motivated me to practice scales. I'm so motivated that I'll watch a few other videos about scales, get bored, play some skyrim, finally pick up the guitar, play half a scale, get distracted, start playing some songs I already know and lie to myself that tomorrow I'll practice scales.

For me, I think the most effective fun way to play scales is get a fretboard diagram showing all the notes of a scale on the fretboard, get a backing track in that scale and then noodle until I memorized all the note placements. And then I can instantly play in any 7 modes of that specific scale

what really impresses me is not that you know this stuff so well you can teach it with ease, but how smooth you are when playing, you mentally know, and your muscles know exactly, when exactly and how exactly to play almost everything on the guitar. And when you learn something, you can apply that muscle memory to that as well. that's freaking incredible.

Unrelated but your guitar ads are the most pretentious and manipulative guitar ads I've seen in a long time. People get offended because you are a pretentious, self-serving liar. Lol. You aren't bad at guitar, but you are taking advantage of people with little to no experience and knowledge, or those who feel incredibly insecure about their playing. I only visited this channel to say this. One particular thing that made me laugh: you listed "using motivation to get better" as a negative. That's hilarious, actually teetering on parody. Motivation is an excellent way to increase your playing. In fact, I would say it is the key factor in determining how far you are willing to develop your potential on the instrument. The same goes for any hobby or interest, whether it be guitar, fitness, learning a language, anything.

Mental block. It's so much easier than you're allowing yourself to believe. Just memorize the alphabet up to the 7th letter. Split each one in half so now instead of A B C etc, it would be A A# B C C# Oh wait notice how there was no sharp between b and c? Yea that's how it works. Same with E to F. No sharp note between. Now you know the entire western scale. Wow

The main question is "Do you have any of your own composition?" Any song? You can teach people anything, you can be perfect guitarist, but is that means that you are better musician? Music is not just guitar playing technique. Suddenly in 2021 everyone talk about scales and chords progression. Show something different, interesting, because these subjects are already borring. It's like to have a perfect ass and put that on instagram.

I disagree. Most people learn differently. You play very well. But most that know what you know play with less feeling, IMO. Guitarists that changed the world like Eddie, Stevie Ray Vaughn,l, Hendrix, The Beatles, etc etc did not know this. Hundreds of years before modern theory, there was tab. I don't like tab either. I like pictures. Which is 100 times easier to learn for most people, and a method I am working on teaching. Again, you are a great player, but not Eddie, Jimmy, etc. They also learned in pictures and did not know every note name in the neck. I liked the video regardless, and enjoyed your reverse psychology humor. Keep rocking! - Kevin Venture
